Thumbs up Transformers The Movie #61 on Animation Features top 100 List

I'm not sure if this qualifys here, but...

quote:

"The Online Film Critics Society (OFCS), the international association of the leading Internet-based cinema journalists, is celebrating the glory of animation with its new list honoring its choices of the Top 100 Animated Features of All Time."

Transformers the Movie came up #61, leaving behind such movies as Fox and the Hound, Titan AE, Aristocats, LotR and the Black Cauldron.

Check the whole list here.

Song of the South was a good movie. When I was a kid, it returned to theatres, and I liked it. I wonder if they'll ever rerelease it.

EDIT: Just checked Ebay, and it looks as if the cheapest it goes for is $60 American.

EDIT 2: Seems to be popular on Kazaa, though. Should have it in two hours, hopefully.

The reason Song of the South is in such demand is because of Disney's attempts to edit out all racial undertones that appear in certain segments of the story. I haven't seen it since I was little, but there are apparently a lot of edits going on with that movie if they're ever to rerelease it. It'll be much more than zooming in to crop out the black minotaurs in Fantasia. Don't expect Disney to ever mention anything regarding edits, though. You'll just hear them say, "It's always been like that. You're lying or can't remember properly if you say otherwise..."

What? Minotaurs can't be black? I tell you, some people are just ridiculous.

Next thing you know, they'll be editing books, like To Kill a Mockingbird.

Well, apparently in the original "un-zoomed" version had the black minotaurs clearly in a subservient role to the other minotaurs, so there is some basis to cutting it out...

I'm happy that 'Toy Story' is number 1, that 'Ice Age' comes in at a respectable 29, and that 'Lady and the Tramp' (God I love that movie) comes in at 33(It should be higher), however I'm ultimately $#!tty with the fact that 'The Land Before Time' comes in at 79. That sucks.

Oh and let me get this straight 'Beavis & Butthead Do America' comes in at 47 but 'The Sword In The Stone' doesn't even make the list. What the **** is with that, 'The Sword In The Stone' rocks.

Yeah... I would have thought 'The Land Before Time' would have done better too.

I'm also surprised that 'Waking Life' made it so high on the list considering the fact that it was such an obscure film.

That's exactly what I was thinking...their whole list seems rather dubious to me. The South Park movie was funny, but ultimately a shallow and puerile attack on the ratings board.

Also the "Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within" was ranked so high up further discredits their choices.

I find it very hard to believe that these people are real film buffs and not just some nerds making another list. Yes, I said nerds, you know, the people that don't have the vision to see beyond their immediate nerdly interests?

Nice to hear about TF:TM, though. Some of the art still looks incredibly impressive even today.

I can't believe in some of the rankings for some of the movies here... this thing was probably taken by a bunch of 6 yr olds...

You got something against Beavis and Butt-head? That movie should have been higher on the list. Hilarious material in that movie man!

If you wanna laugh, read this stuff.

-Beavis: "Is this a god damn?"

-Evil Chick: "You got 2 seconds"
Butthead: "Uh... is that gonna be enough time?"

-Beavis: "I p00p too much!"

-Pilot: "Get the hell out of the cockpit!"
Butt-head: "Uhuhuh you said..."
Pilot: "Now!"

-Old lady: "I'm hoping to score big there myself. I'm mostly going to be doing the slots"
Beavis: "Yea yeah. I'm hoping to be doing some sluts too. Do they have a lot of sluts in Las Vegas?"
-Old lady: "There's so many slots, you wont know where to begin."

-Evil chick: "I'll pay you $20,000 if you go back there and do him."
Butt-head: "Uhhh... You want us to do a guy? No way!"
Beavis: "I don't know Butt-head. That is a lot of money. Maybe if we close our eyes and pretend he's a chick." *slap* "Ahhh!"

-Evil guy: "I'm gonna enjoy this. Any last words before I kill ya?"
Butt-head: "Uhh... I have a couple. Buttcheeks"
Beavis: "Yeah yeah and boobs. Heheh. I just wanna say that again. Boobs."

Yeah, but those jokes tend to lose their humor pretty quickly. I still wouldn't consider it A-list material.
