I think mostly the same, but I can accept Chalk and Kaye
Too bad NOBODY can do Starscream, like Chris Latta, whereas we have a problem

I thought the Armada chap was pretty good. Then there's always RuPaul.

Or they could just omit Starscream, that'd be cool.

The fanboys would have a heart attack. Then again, that's cool too.

Nah, they couldnt omit him, it'd be a travesty!!

Gee, this sounds like a fan making semi-reasonable logical conclusions about what will happen and making it sound official.
About 1. Kind of hard for a movie to begin production without a production house or a script, so 2006 is a nice estimate for possible earliest release if both are set.
2006 would make for a good advertisement date for Transformer fans, so I imagine they will at least push for 2006. So again, it's just logical and not really news.
2. Mostly from fan demands, this is a practical guarantee that Welker and Cullen will get some form of contact either way. Not really news here.
3. *shrugs* Toss a big director name as not interested to make it sound more official.
4. This "Information" is probably based off those lithographs that are circulating around.
5. Don Murphy said something about studios on his message board, and again, it's just a tossing of a well known studio name to make it sound like it's actual news.
And someone took it hook, line, and sinker.

Doug Parker. He seems to be the "replacement" for Latta as of late (Starscream in Beast Wars and Armada, Cobra Commander in the new GI Joe). Honestly, he's pretty good. I'd prefer him to the character than anyone else.

But if the studio's gonna get Doug Parker, Gary Chaulk and David Kaye they might as well just sign on the entire Ocean Group...

Naa if we don't have anyone close to the voice of Starscream.. i say we just cut and paste his voice as much as possible to his lines... he doesn't have to have a big part in the film.. just say acouple of lines... like "Attack", "Move Out", "Megatron your a punk" you guys get the picture.. i think that would be the best way to go...

talking on screamer's voice, personally, I think Scott McNeil could do a bang up job. Watching season 2 of He-Man Vs Snakemen, McNeil plays Kobra Kahn (sp?) and the voice he does is almost exactly the same as Cobra Commander from the original GI Joe...I'll nab a sound file later and attach it...

Mind, the cut and paste could work, 'specially if Mick does the script. It's not like Starscream has a character, he's just a cliche. Get him to say "One day I shall lead the Decepticons" about four times and his fans will need a change of underwear and be happy. It'll also leave the budget for characters who aren't dull cyphers.

Here here! *raises glass*

Yeah he is over-rated though......but I seriously doubt they are going to rip soundfiles... from G1 and paste them in the movie...and if they only do it for some aprts and have others with a voice actor its gonna sound weird unless u have a guy that sounds just like Latta ...which means it was just as well not to paste in the G1 sounds

It sounds like this movie will be based of the comic book. I'm not familiar with it however if they did stick to the origional G1 characters from the mid-80's cartoon with the same voices and looks then you should have a kick butt movie. Looks would be just as key as voices. A problem may be that the vehicles they transform into would be older models from todays standards. ex. Blue streak might have to be the Nissan Z350 and the Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker may need to be updated to the newer F-22 fighter jet. But then again I guess that would mean that Soundwave would need to be a DVD/CD player and laserbeak, rumble and ravage would probably be too thin to move. j/k

People who insist on the upcoming movie taking place after "Rebirth"?

If Starscream "doesn't have a character" and is "a dull cypher", how come us Starscream fans can write whole essays about his motivations?

And as I said in the other thread -

Quote:
I know who should do Starscream's voice - Mark Hamill! If he could do a brilliant job as the Joker...

Since when does "last seen floating helplessly in space" equal "dead"? Especially for an individual with an indestructible spark?

(Not that it would matter, since (as said above) the movie won't be post-Rebirth anyhow.)

seeing the movie will most likely be in its own continuity no one is dead..what would give you that idea? I mean thats like saying Collosus shouldnt have had that cameo in X-2 cause he's dead....

I thought Megatron's voice sounded great. When he said, "I'll rip out your optics" I felt threatened. I hated the fact that in Beast Wars every other word out of Megatron's mouth was "Yes." Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime to me, but Chalk does a very good rendition of Optimus Prime.
