What do you mean? When Galvatron becomes Megatron in Galaxy Force, it'll be the first time he did that as well.

Wow, I can't believe I forgot that was done in the Original Cartoon Continuity. I'm slipping in my old age.

Nope. All the various Galvatrons appearing in the Marvel TF comics, both UK and US, hail from alternate future timelines. That's why Megatron and Galvatron could actually interact with each other.

I actually don't think the animation in Armada or Energon is bad. I think it sucks that we didn't get the finished product but it was adequete.

I don't think the basic story was all that bad either.

What bothers me, and I'd hope Hasbro will work to change, is the dubbing. I don't see why they can't write the scripts for the episodes, have the actors do the voices so as to get a great and consistent performance and then animate to that like they did in the original and BW/BM.

The voice acting is what kills these cartoons for me. I don't see how it can be more expensive to have the voice acting be done before animating. Is the cost really that dependent on what point you have a script written?

They already do. However, G1, BW, and BM were made for American audiences first and used English-speaking voice actors. Therefore, Japan has to dub these shows.
On the other hand, RiD, Armada, and Energon were made for Japanese audiences first, using Japanese-speaking voice actors. Therefore, the characters are flapping their gums in synch with the Japanese language, not with English. English-speaking voice actors have to dub over the Japanese visuals.

Micron Densetsu and Superlink were animated to the original Japanese script. When it's translated to English, dialogue has to be changed to match the mouth flaps, which is why you lose a lot when watching the English dubs.

Armada's Animation compared to Energons looks absolutly awful.

So lets see if I got this right.

in G1 continuity Megs-Galv-Super Megs

In Car Robots Megs-Galv

In the Comic. Megs+Future Galvs= both killed =Megs

In Armada-Energon-Cybertron continuity Megs-Galv-Megs-Galv-Megs-Galv with a hint of Unicron.

Yes, I realize that. What I'm saying is, would it be more expensive to animate the show to an english script?

I don't see how it could be.

The main baddie in Car Robots was Gigatron, and he became Devil Gigatron towards the end.

All that Micron Megatron name-changing is Hasbro's fault; they kept screwing up the names. It really went Megatron-Megatron Super Mode-Galvatron-Galvatron General, and apparently it will go back to Megatron again.

I don't think there was any connection between Megatron and the various Galvatrons in the Marvel comics.

Well, yeah, it would, because they'd have to go in and re-animate all the mouth flaps to match the new English script. That could get very costly.

In Japan they don't record the voice acting before the animation. They animated the show first, drawing the lip-sync to the script. The voice cast then goes in and dubs over the animation, which is why a lot of the time in anime the lip sync doesn't match the dialogue.

If by "better" you mean "a lot more blurry" than the one I just posted above (http://fantofan.jp/news/mag/newtype1.jpg), then, yeah.

Yep. And not even in episode order, they're "best of" videos. I'd wait for a season set if you really want to own the series.

The wrists/arms of Prime look similar to RID super Prime's

Megs looks like a cross between Unicron (shoulders) and Rid Megs (legs/shins) with a few new bits added.

Convoy looks pretty funky, Megatron very anime-ish. Wonder if the US Prime will feature a faceplate?

Ok - little supposition on my part:

Is it just me or does Megatron look like he's been crossed with Unicron?

the shadowed wings on his back, his shoulder pieces really give it away and so do the legs\feet.

What are we going to see Megs crossed with Unicron and an Optimius Primus?
