But all this $*!+ is ROUGH, verily.

We got the first thing done anyway.

Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

Looks pretty jammed. But what I want to know is who the cast list is.

In my opinion, They should get all of the origonal voice actors (Starscream should be played by the guy who did Terrorsaur, I'm not so sure about Jazz though.)

Also, I think that Tom Hanks would make an excellent Sparkplug.

What do you think?

Is it normal for schedules like that to not include casting?

I would assume that casting is included in the Prep part that is supposed to start in April

I think while me might be able to sing a bit of the theme tune, Hanks isn't going to take a relatively minor role in a film about a toyline.

I'd rather they got an actor who's range was a bit wider than "Forrest Gump, and that's all I got" and had an extra $15m to spend elsewhere.

To be fair, Hanks is capable of a lot more than just Forrest Gump. I liked him in Cast Away and a lot of those comedies he did back in the 80's. I also heard he was excellent in Road to Perdition, though I haven't seen it myself. Yeah, he mostly plays a nice guy, but he can play a good range of nice guys.

But I don't think a large chunk of the budget should be spent on his salary, though. He'd also steal the show, appearing on the movie posters and what-not as a quick way to draw in a casual audience.

Plus, this movie could do some potential damage to his career. Face it, the critics are going to pan this thing no matter what. It's a movie to sell toys, I doubt it will get any better reviews than the 1986 film. Having Hanks attached will just give the critics more ammo to work with.

It's a movie to sell toys from 20 years ago?

The way it's being pitched, it sounds like it's intended to be a summer action movie geared to our demographic.

No, made to sell toys that will most definately come out the same time as the movie. C'mon, you know it'll happen. Whether it be Alternators or something else. First and foremost, the purpose of the Transformers is to sell toys. At least, that's how the franchse has always seemed to me. And I can deal with that, as the half hour long toy commercials tend to be very well done (Beast Wars).

I'm guessing Alternators tie-in. It's an obvious.

Can't see why it should take until February for a first draft.

Hey, they may have just been 20 year old half hour toy commercials, but they were damn good ones.

Yeah, it'd be cool if they set these up as classic character tie-ins... Prime and Starscream at least...

My thinking is that Hasbro is going to milk the vehicle licenses, and will have to use them for purposes of animating the film.
