Default It's been a while since I've had a depressed thread.

Why have I been in depression all day today? I'm starting work on Weds. instead of next Monday. I'm getting a headstart on my career and having this long-term substitute position (in one of the subjects I'll be licensed to teach) count as my student teaching. Beating the system by getting paid for a semester's worth of work instead of just paying my university to do somebody else's job fulltime.

This should all be good, so I am I depressed? After I got the call from the principal this morning asking me to come in on Weds. to reacclimate to the school (I did my teacher aiding there last semester), I haven't really done much today other than lay around in bed moping about how tomorrow's my last day of one of those long, college winter breaks.

On the one hand, it's going to be great to be paid the same amount as a licensed teacher, but on the other hand, if I'd just done my student teaching it would've been 12 weeks of full-time work instead of 5 months. I think I have problems with being happy. Seems like I always have to be either angry or sad.

Dont worry, after a few days it will be alright. I used to sit around for days doing **** and I could deal with it. Now that I work and have school, after a few days off I get restless as I have nothing to keep me occupied besides porn and games.

Keeping the world safe from crappy posts

Luke, we all have those days where we think and feel like that. Honestly, if you were all gung ho and sunshine and roses over leaving a break to start teaching, I'd have to hit you. However, you are doing something almost none of us do: you're getting paid to fulfill your student teaching. This is a time when most of us scrape by and eat tuna five nights a week.

Just do your best to enjoy this and think about how much you'll be learning. The only way to learn how to teach is to get in the classroom. They can't teach you **** in college about how real students are going to react.

Honestly, I felt pretty much the same way before I started. Everyone does before we have to enter the classroom.
