What I want to know is whether Dreamwave have actually filed for receivership or whether the Lees have just attempted to fold the company and walk off with the assets.

I won't be buying any comics in which Dreamengine are involved. Period.

You and me both. And I'm sure many others.

I was willing to reserve judgement on the character of Pat Lee, but I think I've seen enough.

Was it too much to ask to at least have him make a public apology to his co-workers and employees? To thank them for all their hard work and efforts?

Instead, we just get some assurance we haven't seen the last of him.

That says something to me about the man.

I was in my local store today and he's got a comic by Pat Lee w/ Dream Engine Productions.

He reckons that they've just tried to liquidate all DW's assets and not pay their creative peeps, basically cutting and running.

Sucks mightily, not that I know the entire situation...

They'll end up bankrupt at the very least. I won't be buying from them either.

The wierd thing is (and im not sure about Canadian business law) that what theyve done is perfectly legal...a person can liquidate a company and restart under a different name (and if needs be put the company under different owner ship) as many times as they need to.

The bankruptcy (?) will only be linked to the orginal owner of the orginal company...so in this case no link. No legal quibbles and certainly no jail time.

Personally I'll be interested as to what, if any, licenses they get considering their history...eyes forwards comic mortals!

This is assuming they want licences. They might just have other companies' titles farmed out to them, like X4. I'm sure they'll do some derivative cyberpunk story some Lee fanboys will decide rocks sooner or later.

Am I the only one who'd like to hear a bit from Ishin right about now? I'd be genuinely be interested to find out how far his blind faith in Pat Lee went...
