I could make a joke here, but I won't.

Oh, what the hell.

"...like most Generation One fanboys."

In other words, you could replace the cast in Vol. 1 with a set of different characters, save Prime and Megs
Actually, even Prime and Megs were interchangable. Prime's speech at the end of Vol. 1 #5 (I think...it's where they showed the humans helping each other despite the personal danger, blah, blah, blah...) wouldn't have sounded any more contrived coming from Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, or Wheelie. And Megs had nothing to really identify him as such. Hell, half his dialogue was straight out of an issue of X-men.

Quote:
Magn...uh, Megatron: "Look at them, Char...Prime. The humans aren't worth saving. They're petty, destructive, greedy. They don't deserve to survive. Join me, and we will wipe them out together!"

Which would be noticed in a way that an online petition may not.

It's like the episode of The Simpsons where Marge protests against Itchy & Scratchy. The network executive is unfussed until he nearly drowns in a building-full of complaints.

The only language companies speak, apart from bad publicity and money.

Maybe, yes. OTOH, it might just as well merely annoy them. Having hundreds(?) of eMails every day isnīt fun, I imagine.

Transfan spam?

Truth be told, I don't see them listening to that.

To be honest, I'd assumed we were talking about regular mail. That's what I'd use if I actually cared.

Why is James trying to get people to pressure companies into getting him a job now? Can't he just join Joe Ng down McDonalds?

Actually, we (Botch and myself) approached he and Adam, they didn't approach us regarding this idea. The petition was our idea, and we asked them what they thought the most effective means for petitioning would be.

On a side note, words from the executive director of Comic Book Digest regarding the impact those few unpublished, uninked and uncolored TF pages from #11 had on the sales of his no-name book:

"You know, we just didn't think it was much of an issue until it started becoming a 'hot' topic on the various TF message boards. Orders for that particular issue have been pouring in because of this."

I signed it. It doesn't hurt anyone, it didn't take much time, and if it doesn't do any good, oh well. And if it helps me in getting to see how the G1 storyline ends, that'll be great, because after the money I've dropped into that storyline I want to see how it ends.
Besides, there is no guarantee that a new writer will be better. Mick and Patyk aren't perfect, but they're fans, and they have a stake in this. If they can put together something like MTMTE, I'm willing to give them a chance to do more.

I can take Bob Budiansky's work, edit it slightly, not give credit and add a potted fanboy history to the end. Can I have some money please?
