Pretty cool stuff. Effects are good, what software do you use? I used to use PSP7, it could do some pretty impressive effects if you coaxed them out of it, but I've switched to Linux now and I can't get it running on WINE.

Yeah, I'm using PS7, too. I know the program does more than what I'm making it do, but it's a matter of figuring everything out. I'm sure over the next couple of years or so, I'll be improving the effects as I go. But for now, I'm quite happy with the results I've got.

More.

How did you do the first picture with Battle Ravage in the air? With strings? I've experimented few times when taking pictures, but it's a bit too time consuming for my taste.

If you've got a trick, please share.

Sound effects for punches etc. work OK. But for me "POUNCE" and "! ?" are distracting. Especially "punce" picture would work better without the effect. Just my opinion naturally.

Actually, for the 'flying' I tend to use all sorts of things. For 'string' tricks, I tend to use the twist ties that hold the toys down. They're thin enough to edit out in Photoshop, and stiffer than string. That way, the thing isn't swinging back and forth--blurring the pic.

As for the "pounce" bit...I guess it could do without. The "?!" are more important, however, as they may not be sound effects (which usually have that glow around them) but are trying to indicate a facial expression of confusion, surprise, or some other reaction to whatever is going on. It's hard for the most part to depict emotions with these toys.

Besides, it worked in Metal Gear: Solid.

Twist ties? Too bad I've propably thrown away all of those. Will need to save those the next time I'll buy a boxed toy.

I propably wouldn't have mentioned "pounce" thing otherwise, but it's IMO the best picture in your comic so far. Without the "pounce" it'd be even better.

Really? That one little pic? I always felt I cropped it kinda bad, mainly because of where my hands were in the pic. (making sure he didn't fall over)

Ah well, there are plenty more where that came from, as they say.

I guessed that it was cropped oddly because of you holding the toy.

Poses look very... natural/real, Speedbreaker really looks like something has hit it's back (back is arched). Good use of effects as well. That is a sort of picture I've tried taking few times but without success.

Yeah, my fingers were in the shot, so the crop ended up being something that felt a little too cut up. One thing about the Speedbreaker toy is his articulation. That's probably why the pose works well, where if he pounced Hound in the back it wouldn't work at all.

Anyway, I've got the next set.

I kinda figured, if nothing else you'd appreciate the Lego.

Are those Fire Dragon and Ice Dragon from GGG in the first pic?

I would have to assume so. (Memory serves, these two were from GGG.) They turn into a fire engine and crane truck respectively, but the bodies are identical. They work rather well in the TF world, I think.

Yeah, those are them, then.

Brave is something like Transformers' cousins: big transforming robots made by Takara (mostly), but a different marketing brand and different toys. There were a few molds from the late Japan-only G1 stuff that got reused in some Brave series, and some Brave trends seeped into recent TF stuff (Cybertron Prime's giant arm combination, for instance).

Anyway, ahem.

HOW COME I AIN'T SEEN A TWO-HANDED THUNDERCRACKER YET

Oh, we got lots to go. And all my Seeker jets have their fists.

Unless this was some inside joke I am unaware of...

You know, I'm actually waiting to see that other Speedbreaker. Clear sign that you're succeeding at telling the story.

"I'm sorry sir. You will have to shoose another name." made me grin already.

Yeah, I'm sort of working out how I'm going to portray Speedbreaker. (the real one) I don't know if I'll use the show's incantation or go with something else. I'll have to see.
