Default Japanese Transformers Episode Guides

Having noticed that there can be a lot of threads started up enquiring about episode guides and episode titles for the various Japanese threads, I thought that starting a thread which covered all of the series might be a useful, helpful idea.

There's a couple of things which I'd be interested to know, if anyone actually has the information - that is - the Japanese re-titlings of the original American series and Beast Wars series....If you know, post it here.

Hope that's been helpful, please correct any mistakes I've made.

Smile Brend's Guide To Japanese Bad Guy Factions

Decepticons = Destrons (w/ Decepticon sigil/rubsign)

BW Predacons = Destrons (w/ Predacon sigil/rubsign)

BWII villains = Destrons (w/ Predacon sigil/rubsign)

BW Neo = Destorons (w/ Predacon sigil/rubsign)*
and also Blentrons (third faction, three fuzors, with Unicronian affiliation/sigil)

Car Robots = Destrongers (w/ Predacon sigil/rubsign)
also including a subgroup (comprising Black Convoy and the Combatrons) who have an upside-down G2 Autobot sigil.

(*note the superfluous "o" - Japanese pronounciation remains unchanged, but that's the official romanisation on the toy boxes and catalogues)

Takara print the faction names on the boxes and catlogues in romanised text.

For Beast Wars Neo, they spelt the faction names "Cybertoron" and "Destoron"
In all other instances, they didn't.

Could someone with mod powers clip out all the more irrelevant stuff from this thread [for a start, the info on the long-defunct Archive hub] and possibly lock it so we don't get general Japanese Qs stuck to it?

And edit Torsten/Doug's names for the dubbed 'US' episodes into Dai's posts as well? It'd make the topic a whole lot more coherent and useful IMO

Tidied.

Can someone remind me where "Scramble City Toys" fits into the FSRLT and 2010 list, and is it worth keeping rayden's post in?

SC: Toys is basically "sideways" from SC, as it's more or less a remake with toys... it'd be akin to doing a TV commercial ripping off a couple of TF:TM scenes, represented by the toys, with a couple of other toys just chucked in.... It's certainly not regular continuity, but should be listed really to stop people going "But you missed Scramble City Toys and it's the sequel, but with toys!" etc.

Lord Rayden's post... without any offence meant, it's the standard "This is how things split off in Japan", done with a bit of poor grammar and not very linearly presented... I'm up for doing a brief summary along the same lines to possibly be stickified [I'd get The Big N and Da Spengla to give it a once over to check for accuracy] as it is a common question... I just don't think that's the best definitive answer we could come up with

As a segue, a batch of links to Doug Dlin's summaries [Rob Jung's place seems to be a stable home] is more useful than an email address

So Operation: Combination is actually a continuation so direct from battlestars that it could be considered a part of Battlestars itself? Judging from those titles, it certainly seems so!

Also, when o' when are we gonna get translated versions of the manga and the text stories!?

I'm waiting on translating the story pages until I have a complete set. I'm this close to having all the Return of Convoy story pages, but I'm still missing a few and it's bugging me.
