How about Holi (the Victory version of Micromaster Stakeout)? He may have been a young Autobot, but he obviously existed for some time before the series (heck, he even had a girlfriend).

However, I'm holding with the thought that this blue version, if not a prototype, is most likely an alternate version of Prowl. Perhaps Prowl can change his color scheme alá Tracks, so that, in the story, he can mimic the coloration of any patrol cruiser in the world, whether they be black and white, blue, green and white, or whatever.

Could it be a regular version camouflage? I hope nothing changes, because I've already ordered both. I must say that the blue looks awesome compared to the earlier picture. Joy for me, since Laserwave is blue\purple and I have neither b tracks or any smokescreen. Excellent!

-EDIT-
Hobby Link Japan changed the name of the product from Prowl Feat Honda Integra Police Type blue to

Prowl Feat Honda Integra Blue. Release date is still July 14th.

Since it is a "pimped" remold of Prowl, I'm guessing it will be Mirage.

...Or Soundwave with a cassette character (instead of a gun) under his hood?..

The thing that bugs me is that it's still listed as BT-15, and supposed to come out at the same time as Prowl.

Takara never released two toys with different names under the same number at the same time.

Sorry for asking (I'm a n00b regarding this matter), but how was the Meister/Zoom-Zoom release delt with?

Were they released at different times and do they have different BT number codes?

Edit:
Form your thread starter post I guess they have the same BT codes.

Therefore, you could well be right in fearing this might be a second non G1 "Productimus Placimus" TF.

As I explained above:

He's called simply "Meister Velocity Red Mica Edition" on the packaging. "Zoom-Zoom" is just a nickname Hirofumi Ichikawa included in the system description for giggles. It's stated that this is just a "nickname", not the official name of the toy.

People, people, why all the fuss? Simple facts

1) Prowl is coming out in two versions. A police car and a more casual street version.

2) Both versions, irregardless of how they are called, are set to debut on July 14th.

3) Judging by Hlj's entry [a respectable online shop], the blue version is also called Prowl. They rarely make mistakes, besides the 'Ravager' instead of Ravage.

What have we learned? This is a repeat performance of BT 08, only this time, we're getting a remould of the SAME character. The reasons are unknown at the moment. Could be Honda's demand that a street version is released, could be the fact that so far we've only seen two new moulds for 2005 and the future's bleak. I mean, the next entry will come out in september and it's yet another remould.

It seems that there's something new going on...

Hlj has taken Prowl out of their ordering system.

When I logged in to my account to check, he is marked as a december release and the product webpages are no longer up.

A fault on Hlj's part, or a release date pushback? [they still have wildrider available at bt16]

No clue, but if his release date is indeed pushed back, that's simply lame. December? Two moulds for BTs for 2005?

Although nothing should be taken for granted. Could be just a mistake on Hlj's part.

Prowl's back [both of them]

Minor, yet there's an increase in the price. The increase is not present on Wild Rider. Either hlj's going crazy, or takara is.
