Hasn't just about every new TF like since BM initially been "back to G1" when first revealed, only for the radical changes to gradually emerge?

I highlighted it because certain fans were still insisting that the reason was "choking hazard" or some other saftey issue even though both Hasbro and Takara have already given hints towards the real reason. This, however, is the first complete, unambiguous explanation from an official source that will hopefully end all the "no, Honda had nothing to do with it" crap.

UPDATE: Another Allspark gallery...

And TFW2005 is working again.

Okay, I'm confused. Are they rereleasing Meister? Hard to tell, but does he have a new head or something?

Yeah, I was just comparing too. So I suppose they're redistributing? Wouldn't mind it--I need one for a kitbash I'm gonna do later.

If I recall correctly, they had every Alternator to date on display, just because they wanted to show the full line...

Ah. Makes more sense then.

Hard part about that Sunstreaker...I went and custom painted a Dead End. Came out nice enough (though the paint chips). And now, of course, they decide to release him afterall.

Eh, ah well.

The prices were steep even without the toys (IIRC - $120ish was the admittance price), but the toy packages were truly for those with more money than they know what to do with.

I would attend if the price were around $25-$50 like most conventions that size, but I think their biggest problem this year was holding it during the school year. Summer's more likely to draw a crowd.

I thought there was a basic door price without toys?

Yes, the scheduling ruled out most students and young families. MC either don't grasp that TFs aren't a money-spinner in the way G.I. Joe is (with an older, settled fanbase) or don't give two tugs of a dead dog's cock...

I'm not sure, but I thought the $100+ package was just for admittance, the comic, and some early bird stuff in the dealer room. If there was just a regular door price, great, but I was under the impression that there wasn't.

I'm hoping that the date this year was influenced by just when they got the rights to the convention and that next year it'll be held during the summer. Isn't the Joe convention held then too?

Hopefully they'll also tier the exclusives so that there isn't such a jump and people can get the items they're after rather than a block—that's more what I was referring to with the money-spinning comment; all or nothing prices those two demographics (a largish chunk of the fandom) out.

Hmmm . . . they didn't have that in their little information pamphlet. I only saw the inflated prices. I probably wouldn't have been able to get the time off and fly down to Texas, but I'm sure they would have had more attendees if that admission price were made more prominent. Perhaps, I'll look into going next year.
