Sweeeeeet. Transformers: Generations starts off with the greatest TF story ever told IMO, Marvel #7 and #8 with pencilling by William Johnson.

Good way to get new fans on board, by starting out with the best.

Woot! Cover art! :up:

For those unfamiliar with the stories printed in Marvel #7-8, have a read of this:

"A superb piece of work, possibly the best Transformers story yet." —Cliffy

(He's talking about the run from #1 onwards, but definitely still likes it lots.)

As someone mentioned before, yes if you have a local retailer who deals with Diamond. Ask them, as they might not otherwise put in a speculative order. It'll work much the same as it does with US comics in the UK.

I only really like the Blitzwing/Jazz cover.

Don't like the Beast Wars covers or the rest of the G1's.

I particularly like the Prowl cover by Su (the one that joins up with covers for #1 and #2) which has a painted effect on the colours... maybe IDW will consider a frieze-style poster of it when it's complete.

Will probably go for the humans cover, personally.

I gotta say (first real post back) that Andy Wildman's cover is the mutt's nutts! I just like the composition of it and the flavour of the old school.

And I liked it so much it's the new corner pic!! :D

Good choice for the first Generations issues.

I have to agree with SCS about #3 covers, Wildman's cover rocks. Guido's Blitzwing vs. Jazz isn't bad either.

I'm not sure if BW covers can bring in readers outside of fandom. For a HC BW fan like me covers are nice, but the covers propably won't scream "Transformers" or even "Beast Wars" for casual reader. Colours seem dark for me, hopefully it'll change in the final product. Guido's cover will be my choice. :)

Is it just me, or is Blitzwing about twice the size of Jazz on that cover pic?

And could someone please clarify which artist did which cover? I think Wildman did the Starscream cover, right? E.J. did the Blitzwing tank I guess.

It says in the URLs when you click the thumbnails.

Starscream = Nick Roche
Blitzwing (tank) = Wildman
Prowl = EJ Su
Humans = Raiz
Blitzwing/Jazz = Guido

It's not just you... I think the triple-changers will be larger than most other characters in this continuity (except perhaps Prime and Megatron); exactly how much larger we'll find out when we see interior art featuring them.

Oh, and I would go with the Jazz vs Blitzwing cover, and the Grimlock vs. Magmatron

Yomtov's multi-coloured diahorrea is going to look rather odd in an outwardly modern comic... it's one thing in a trade, but in a comic, opposite PSP adverts? That's going to look nuts...

I would think they intend to recolor the art to fit modern standards.
