All in all, the mold has the look, but not the character. Still, like I said, a good figure. I'm sure they'll figure out a way to reconcile it in the comic. Perhaps his honor comes from work experience, where he witnessed graft in a maximal construction site, leading him to forsake his work and to become a predacon. Perhaps, he witnessed the creation of Protoform X . . .

hmmm......... sounds good, that could work

http://www.botcon.com/ -- Cheetor is up... and a very odd non-Armada choice there.

Good Points: Head sculpt and those wonderful seats

Bad Points: Like Clocker, his robot mode is a pathetic, plasticy wannabe Mcdonalds wannabe and the Cheetor colours compound this appearance furthermore

Robot mode looks ridiculous.

Hmmm . . . not bad. Was kinda hoping that they'd stay away from any more basics, just because of the price that they're asking (and because the only one that was originally a basic was Rattrap) . . .

Was also hoping they'd make him from Hot Shot, given the obvious character parallels.

I guess that leaves Rhinox, right? Maybe they'll do something hella cool, like make him from cybertron defense scattorshot. I can imagine him as heavy artillery.

clocker was a cool little robot. they could of went a different way, but in all a good choice being both clocker and cheetor were boh young and wanted to prove themselves.

Cheetor really looks the part in the clocker mould. Nice detailing and head sculpt.

Well, Rhinox and Depth Charge, as far as Maximals go. The others were 'newborn' on Earth during the Beast Wars. (Tigatron, Airazor, Tigerhawk, Silverbolt, and Blackarachnia.)

They may also be doing the Preds, considering the number of weeks out we are.

I'd expect them to save those for a subsequent year, TBH. Maybe some minor characters as attendee exclusives...

I think they announced that they were only doing the original crew of the axalon and dinbot to make up the maximals from the pilot.

Like Denyer said, they may do the preds some other year. That would be cool, and if I do end up joining the club and getting this set (which looks more and more likely, given that ordering the set as a member would automatically set me ahead with membership), I would definitely pick up the pred set as well.

I'd say a Cybertronian Razorbeast would go down well

Ooh! I was actually debating picking up Landmine, but now, I won't have to.

Does anyone know how long you have to join the club and still be elligible for the discount, offered for the Botcon set? I definitely want this set, and the fan club discount makes the fan club membership worth it for this year.

This year's set looks to be a homerun. Good job, FP!

What's the deal with the set, anyway? Do you have to be a member of the club to by them, or do you just have to show up?

Lexington is only about a three hour drive from here, so if all I have to do to get a set is to go to the `con for a day and put down some cash, I'd be interested.

Er, a more specific question : will you be able to buy the set if you just purchase a general admission ticket at the convention? The botcon website isn't very clear about that.

Those colors really do work for that particular mold. I am extremely impressed
