Default TF:The Movie - Theme by "The Lion" Question

Probably only loosely a transformers question this, because of it's connection to the movie.

I recently went hunting for the bands that had contributed the songs to the TF:TM soundtrack.

The songs: "Nothings Gonna Stand In Our Way" and "Hunger" where performed by a band listed on the Soundtrack CD as: "Spectre General". Spectre General was in fact a pseudonym for a Canadian band called: "Kick Axe", who released 3 excellent albums in the 1980s.

I've been searching without succes to see if the band listed as "The Lion" who wrote and performed the TF:TM theme, have released anything else under that name, or another name. Without success.

Anyone know anything this band and any of their releases?

From what I gathered, the band is actually called Lion, and released two albums, Dangerous Attraction and Trouble in Angel City and an EP Power Love. Lion's guitarist is named Doug Aldrich, he played in DIO and is currently playing in Whitesnake, so if you want to find something more about Lion, the best way is looking for info on Mr. Aldrich.

-Okay, the bomb's dropped. Life goes on. No amount of sulking or worrying changes that. We've got our own lives to live. In that regard, in five minutes time, I am using the autopilot on the Midnight Runner and taking it down the pub. If I go on my own, I go on my own.
-Well. Wait up, you horrible English git. While I'm around, you don't have to go anywhere on your own.
And, one by one, the others follow.
And, one by one, they begin to smile.

Thank you for this info. I went and looked on google with the album names you gave me and this made things an awful lot easier - the Transformers theme is fantastic, I hope the rest of their songs are half as good as this.

Yep. That's how they're credited at the end of the film... and on the soundtrack...

Often helps to get an artist's name right when searching for their stuff.

White Lion (from roughly the same period) aren't connected, but have a similar 80s style to some of the soundtrack...

I meant that it's not called The Lion, like dai wrote.

Some websites want people to believe they are, though.

I know! I was confirming... and inferring that I've no idea where he got the "The" from, as they're called Lion on... well, everything I've ever seen...

White Lion are a superb band with a similar sound. I have their entire back catalogue (well, all 4 albums of it).

As regards the "The". <shrugs>. I remembered it as being called "The Lion". I remembered wrong. It happens. No big deal.

What about NRG, who wrote and performed "Instruments of Destruction"? Was a cool song.
