At first, this seems strange, but then... can any Transformer really be a Jaguar other than Jaguar?

I mean... a Jaguar drives up to two Transformers and one whispers to the other, "I bet that's Ravage." And then the Jaguar transforms and says, "Nope! I'm Bugly!"

Just doesn't work, now does it?

maybe they'll suprise us all and make it Steeljaw
although yellow Jag can't really see it

as for the Scion it'll probably end up as Soundwave or something.

Cadi or Jaguar will probably eventually end up with a Downshift repaint to complete the set.

Of course, it would be *great* if Wal-Mart (at least around here) would stock ANY Alternators. At all. Period. After they got rid of the red boxed ones, they haven't gotten any more.

Nah, that'd require a new head. The Mustang re-release, however, could be a straight repaint of Grimlock and pass for Soundwave - the heads are simliar enough.

Rumor mill is saying 'Ironhide', which does fit the mold. But, that's just the rumor mill. Could be Black Zarak for all anyone really knows at this point.

Why does everyone want Ironhide as a Scion? Just because of the shape of the vehicle?

Do you have any idea how TINY a Scion is?

Same for the people who want to see it as Ratchet...

He [Ratchet] could be the world's only dedicated midget ambulance perhaps...

I agree with your point about Ratchet, but I disagree with your point about Ironhide. Why not make him a bit smaller as an Alternator? By your reasoning, Prime should not have been a pickup truck, which is a considerably smaller vehicle than a semi tractor trailer truck.

Yes, but Prime is still the biggest Alternator in vehicle mode.

Need Ironhide be that big? Besides, when he is in robot mode, Skids is just about as large as Meister. Granted the vehicle is tiny, but why must Ironhide have a large vehicle-mode? After all, G1 Ironhide (cartoon version--I won't go into the damned toy) was a mini-van.

HEh, and Ratchet could be a Scion as a first response vehicle (not a carry-away ambulance). There's actually a few of those now being used around here for mountain work.

There's an Ironhide kitbash/repaint of Skids on Transtopia. I think the Scion mold painted red makes for an extremely convincing Ironhide.

If Ironhide isn't the official repaint, I may actually try that myself.

Erm, the toy's more a Minivan than the cartoon character... While scale was fluid in the cartoon and he's not much minier than anyone else, the toy van is as cute as can be... presuming the Autobot cars are to scale (I'm pretty sure they are), the toy mode really is mini, being shorter than most of the sports cars.

That's unless Ironhide's original toy is twice the size of Ratchet and no-one's bothered to point it out before, anyway...

Ironhide G1 was a Ford Aerostar, which was one of the smaller minivans on the market. The idea of making the Rescue version is the oddity, since the Aerostar would be far too small to be a regular ambulance, and first response rescue was unheard of in the late 1970s (Diaclone period).
