Because most peeps don't even remember Huffer and Gears, let alone what they looked like in the cartoon?

Good point. So why include them, even supposing that a Japanese boxed set reissue was pitched as a serious competitor to the PS2?

Gears was one of my most played with mini-bots as a kid. STURDY! Mom wouldn't get me Huffer..."You don't need another semi-truck. You have that expensive blue and red one young man!"

Because they lost the Windcharger mould down the back of the sofa? Because nobody likes Cliffjumper? Who knows...

I'd make a point for these being legit, since Stryker (the guy who posted them at AcToys) is supposedly the same person as S250 of the TFW2005 boards... and S250 has been one of the people repeatedly pointing out G1 bootlegs, so I'd trust him to be able to tell the difference between a bootleg and a genuine test shot.

If this is legit... this is fantastic news.

I mean, he still has the Diecast feet, and Ravage with his Diecast legs, and Lazerbeak with is Diecast body. Plus the Chrome weapons (on the few other Hasbro ones I've seen, the weapons became and ugly non-chrome colour that hightlighted their ugliness)!

I sort of want them to paint him in Soundwave colours (as I will probably never find a decent priced TFC version), but Soundblaster has a great colour scheme (however, I can still probably find a TFC verson if I try), so I'm conflicted.

Astrotrain was/is exclusively available here.

That being said, your post appears to be missing something.

I wonder if it's diecast. I know Hasbro's reissues weren't, but the test shot picutres apparently had the diecast feet and the diecast parts on the tapes.
