Default TF videos on YouTube, ads, etc.

(As of now, this is nowhere near complete, going to get on Youtube with a faster connection to get some of the older videos, ie the Citroen, preview of Alt. Meister, Transforming VW Beetle, etc.)

Okay, here's the (somewhat) definitive list of Transformers videos, still a work in progress.

The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime

Kung-Fu Transformers

Optimus Prime: A Night at the Opera

Nazicons

The Really, Really, Dark Awakening

Prime's Chocolate Salty Balls

SOS Wheeljack

Shockwave's Burden

Transformers: "Wassup"

Transformers/LOTR Trailer Mash-up

Family Guy Soundwave Clip

Nevermore's bane, Breakdancing Soundwave

Transforming VW Beetle

Err, "Real" Transformer

Citroen C4 (Skater)

Citroen C4 (Dancer)

(Err, I couldn't find the Meister video, if anyone else can, feel free to post it, and make me feel stupid, just go ahead.

Uh, anything else major that's still missing?)

Default Mazda RX-8 Alternator

I just saw this over on Seibertron. Apparently, Mazda is working with Hasbro to create a Mazda RX-8 Autobot Alternator. Here is a video to show you.

http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/NA_A.../frameset.html

Pure Speculation below:

My only question is which Autobot is it? It's a red and white Autobot but it can't be Sideswipe since he's a Dodge Viper. Red Alert just doesn't seem to fit the bill since the Alternators appear to be following the G1 line. Windcharger is a possibility or maybe Cliffjumper though I would have suspected Cliffy to be a Volkswagon beetle and not a Mazda. I've been looking at the toy scans and Chase seems to be a possibility as well. Inferno would be absurd since he's a fire truck.

All in all, I'm leaning toward Windcharger on this model though I could very well be wrong.

Your thoughts?

Thanks, Zeeks! Great job!

Vehicle to autonomous biped robot conversion for the Mini Cooper r50.

I first had the vision to build a robot while working as an engineer on the old Mini Coopers in the late 1960s. There were no real robots at the time of course, so it was purely science-fiction. But I always believed a robot would be the most natural complement to the automobile - a full biped, intelligent version having great strength, dexterity and a library of mechanical knowledge. I imagined a robot with the ability to repair vehicles, direct traffic and watch over high-accident crossroads to preempt accidents.

This ambition started to look possible when work began on the new Mini. I've always believed BMW overbuilds many of their parts, so the over-building of certain Mini applications for my robotics use went unnoticed. In 1998, I began tests in a remote location outside Oxford.

In 2000 I thought my formal connection to Mini might be severed when Rover was sold by BMW. Luckily, BMW chose to retain the Mini brand. Subsequently, a few engineers would need to stay in England - Oxford to be exact. I was slated for retirement and was originally from the Oxford area so it raised little suspicion when I offered to stay. From then on, progress was swift.

Here's the one I grabbed:

No, this isn't [edit: I should say doesn't appear to be] some guy playing around with animation. This is an actual built robot.

I'd guess the site will be back properly in a bit... some people are questioning the extent of its authenticity, though:

To really tell, we'd need the video files. It's much easier to spot faked video than still photos...

The video close-ups of the robot's arms appear to have that slightly "semi-liquid surface" effect that's characteristic for GCI. True, not as obvious as on Babylon 5 but it's still there. Thus, I rather question its authencity,
