Not necessarily. It's more difficult to pack a design into a smaller space. You could model parts and stress factors on computer much as car companies do...

Yeah, someone on Slashdot pulled that up quite quickly. It isn't in itself conclusive, though it certainly may cast further doubt.

It's the claim of the AI and tracking being so far in advance of everything else which has me pretty certain it's a hoax.

Here's fairly simple proof it's a hoax:

Notice the shadows. The robot's shadow comes towards us. However, the car's shadow is in front of it, going into the picture.

Not so professionally done after all, huh?

It's a fake. The real giveaway is the stop test... it's hard to believe someone would test a thing like that while driving the vehicle towards a wall.

Also, it looks like CGI. Maybe it's an early production draft for the new movie? Or an alternate commercial test?

Pretty cool but im not buying it, im pretty sure its a fake, i was looking at the wheels and there are no drive aels and i don't think that the tires would ever align proplerly. Just look at your own transformers, RID in particular and see if all the wheels are straight.

Come on and wind me up.

I can't tell if its a fake or not.. of course, for some reason the video isn't playing for me. This I do know. With proper knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC's.. a real live transformer CAN actually be created. After all, look at the monster truck rallies where they have Dinosaurus Rox, Galactron, Megasaurus, Reptar, Scorgator, Transaurus, and Vorian transforming from a monster truck to a 3 story tall actual monster. Scroll down to where it says Transformers to click on pictures of them here. Granted these REAL LIVE Transformers aren't as sophisticated as what we would probably like to see, nor are they as they seem in this gents' pictures and proposed CGI manufacturing, but the fact is that there are some out there. I would love to build my own, since I have a degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology which incorporates the use of Electrical components, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, Frequency Drives, Welding, etc. Only problem I run across, is I'm broke. Hmm.. If only..

I'll take that bet. Seems as if this is becoming the new fad for car companies....IMO the bot itself reminds me of Robocop 2 from, well, Robocop 2...the first thing that popped in my mind.

Since it's not explicitly named the "MINI TRANSFORMER" as in "Transformers (R) & TM HASBRO", I'd say no... at least not yet.

But since it shows BMW (who own Mini) seem to have no problem with their cars being associated with "war machines", what should keep HasTak from striking a deal with them, especially considering all the hype?

Wow, that's cool.

I can see them going for a license to Hasbro, once their marketing campaign has been allowed to gather steam of its own.
