Exclamation DO NOT BUY FROM WHEELJACKSLAB

Hi

To everyone on ebay don't buy from wheeljackslab he will rip you off. If not on your first buy he will eventually.
I have had the great luxury of experiencing this sad little unproffesional seller (name is Chris Ingledue by the way) up close and he is by far the worst I've come across. Personally I think ebay should shut this guy out....for good!
As that is never going to happen I urge everyone who doesn't particularly enjoy to be ****ed in the arse to stay away from this guy and his store!!

Google his store or check out his feedback on ebay and you'll see that a lot of people have had problems with this guy.....buyers beware!!!!

The guys name has certainly come up before, I'm surprised he's managed to stay in business after all these years.

I've never been screwed by him, but he's incredibly rude. He sent me an email, with payment instructions, and there was a link for instructions for checks and money orders.

However the link said something along the lines of "For payment of items from this site, please mail checks and money orders to . . ." Since I was buying the items from ebay I was like "Ok. Where do I send the money? The link you gave me was for orders on that particular website."

He responded by sending me the link again. There was an exchange back and forth and finally he took the 30 seconds to copy and paste the address and with a rather rude tone pointed out that this was the third time he had given me the address. When I checked the address it was indeed the same address as was on the website.

The whole thing could have been avoided if he had just taken the time to just copy and paste the address after my first email or just explained that while the site says that the address was for orders from his site, it was also the address for ebay payments. All in all it was a rather large order (I had BINed three items, and with what he charges that's a large order).

I also found it a bit unprofessional that his site had a section that was pretty much a rant about crazy customers. Yeah there are a lot of them out there, but it doesn't strike me as a good idea to have a section about how customers are crazy on a site where you're trying to make sales.

Tbh. Like dalek said I'm surprized he still does any business. He has a reputation of selling dirty (with some folks claiming that their items smell like urine), sub-prime toys at ridiculous prices, and there are many instances where items never arrive, and he wont compensate the buyer in any way.

It seems like everyone's either had a good experience or a bad one with him. Nothing in between. My first dealing was positive, and my second was the time described above.

A quick google search reveals many threads about his poor service. Here are a few:

Yeah, honestly, I'm surprised people are STILL buying from him. I remember a good 5-6 years ago, when I started collecting, I used to read horror stories about his services and urine-soaked products, his was actually one of the first names in the fandom that I memorized.

I don't suppose we could sticky this thread as a general "Buy at your own risk"? He's notorious enough that a topic about him is posted every few years. Which makes me think it might be good to keep something like this visible as a warning to new collectors who might join our site.

For the next time his name comes up, here's a previous discussion on Wheeljackslab (currently bumped, but for future reference when he most assuredly does come up again):

A onging thread for general Ebay warnings is I think a fair enough thing (I believe there's one in GD somewhere) but a stickied thread just to warn people about one seller would perhaps be OTT.

Fair enough.

On second thought I'm not all that surprized he's still in business. With all the auctions he has, he generates a decent amount of cash for ebay. They'll pretty much forgive anything as long as you're bringing money in.

I stopped purchasing stuff from him when I did not receive some accessories from him. This was back 7 or 8 years ago. He told me that he was not responsible for lost mail and I had not insured it. The items cost less than $10, so I figured insurance was a waste of money. He told me that he would sell me another set for the same price, and I just laughed. At the time I had a very low eBay score, so I did not leave him negative feedback. I know eBay changed the way feedback can be left by sellers, but the feedback system was not really a good indicator of a decent seller or not. Often people were worried about retaliation so they would not post a negative score even if things were completely borked.

I used to wait until the last night possible if I felt someone deserved a negative. That way it would be too late for them to leave retaliatory feedback. I really only had to do it a few times.

One guy had all ready left me a positive so I left him a negative because I never got my item, and he refused to send it unless I sent him extra money because the auction ended cheaper than he'd have liked. I ended up getting him kicked off ebay because I forwarded our exchanges to them.

The more I think about it the more I don't think wheeljackslab is all there. Everyone who has anything to say either says he did a great job or he was horrible to deal with, with no real middle ground. The fact that some people have even gotten urine-soaked items is a bit disconcerting . . .

You know, reading these last few post I feel a little better about my current issue with a high end LinoType-Hell scanner I bought.

I have no issues with the seller; but, since this beast is large and heavy (330 LBS just for the scanner, never mind the dedicated computer to run it) it has to be palleted and shipped as freight.

Unfortunately, the shipping company that was contracted has decided to yank chains all around and delivery (heck, PICK-UP) hasn't happened yet.

I'm not personally worried because the seller opted to be covered under paypal's guarantee.

I've only ever had to leave one negative feedback. I bought Mach Kick and Archadis with packaging. It was listed as "Like new. Removed from box, displayed, and returned to box for sale." When I got the pieces, they reeked of smoke and Archadis was missing a missile.

I sent a couple messages over a week or so and got no response. I finally sent one basically saying that I'd rather not leave a negative but that I needed some sort of response. He responded that night that he'd look for the piece. Over a week went by with no contact again. I sent two more the following week and got nothing. Finally on that Saturday I left a negative. That night I got a message saying "I work weekends so I can't respond to messages. Thanks for the negative. I found the part by the way."

Even after telling him I'd amend the feedback if I got the part, it still never came. A little convenient that he can't respond through the week unless negative feedback is mentioned. But even if you honestly don't have the time or ability to respond to messages throughout the week, you should either make note of that somewhere or not sell things on Ebay.

Dang man...howdahell you gonna get a scanner that big and dedicated system to run it...what kind of work do you use it for, I mean high res porn is readily avail on the net. [/jk]

I'd be more worried that the guy making $7 an hour doesn't give a shiz about your delivery and will slam it around as he is loadin it on the back of the truck. Usually ppl selling that type of equip are in the biz as well and understand the importance of the buyer wanting it delivered safe and sound.

Dang. Reeking of smoke is esp narsty. I have quit and started again, but I do NOT..I repeat, DO NOT, smoke in my house at all. The benefit of smoking outside is that my house does not stink. It is one of my last vices as I gave up drinking everyday, gave up smoking da good herb, and do not do any other questionable practices of medicine that may require my serving time in a penitentiary. Gave up all of my fun bad habits about 11 years ago when my wife and I got together.

I think option b should be the one chosen by said folks. If you can't communicate you shouldn't sell.

Answer #2: well ... it will be fully insured. I do understand your point though. Right now the seller is trying to get his money back from the 'shipper' who is jerking us around and arrange something with Genesis, a company that remanufactures these scanners and which recently bought a number of Howtek drum scanners from him.

Answer #1:

Point taken about the porn; but, I got it to scan family pictures including all my grandfather's pile'o'kodachromes (he's been gone 20 years and my grandmother still gripes about his preference for film). I decided to go with this scanner because it's optical resolution (4800) is ideal for scanning 35mm and medium format films (I use medium format) plus it will handle prints up to 12x18.

I will probably be spending more dough on SilverFast Ai eventually especially if I find I can somehow make money with it once I'm up and running which will enable me to simply use my main Mac running OSX.

If you aren't familiar with this software and do any scanning yourself, look here: http://www.silverfast.com/show/silve...elberg/en.html

There are some promo movies on that page, including one about the Topaz 2 that's an pseudo informative snoozer (please note, versions for regular consumer scanners are a LOT cheaper than this version ... the LinoColor 6 software it already has is suburb, it just cannot save images as 48-bit color and lacks modern dust removal but I already have a Polaroid app for that which will run on the server).

My one and only dealing over ebay was a few months ago when I decided to sell my zoids collection, I ended up trading with a lady in Kentucky for a large lot of Movie and Cybertron figures. That all went well... it was afterwards when I paid my seller fee's through paypal and now to this day I still get invoices telling me to pay fees I've already paid! I sent several emails to customer service and never got a response, finally I got on the help chat thing which ended in me faxing the bank statement proving I paid... that was a week in a half ago and today I got another invoice asking me to pay the same fee's, only now they've increased the amount!

In the end, I don't intend to ever use ebay again and have already started the process of cancelling my account.

Resigned to not receiving my first ebay purchase in 8 years of using the site.

Just got that feeling on this one, made 3 purchases all from separate sellers 2 Fridays back. Received 2 last week one on the Tuesday from HK and the other on Wednesday from the US, which I thought to be pretty quick. The 3rd should be making it's way from HK as well but didn't get a postal confirmation as I did with the other 2, so on Friday I decide to chase it up just for peace of mind. To which I got the rather curt reply of 'I posted it already.' which didn't fill me with confidence on reading. Either they've been really tight on postage and it's making it's way snail mail or it's not going to make it at all or most likely didn't post it till I chased them. Think I'll leave it till Friday then start being a bigger nuisance.

I pestered a seller last year and he was good enough to prove the parcel sent. I then pestered Royal Mail who confirmed that the item had been delivered to my address and signed for - it hadn't and never was, but RM refused to produce any signatory slip. No one could prove anything so that was the best part of 20 chucked away.

Cheers, Royal Mail.

Check with your local depot, Raze, before contacting the seller again. Then you'll either be armed with the knowledge that the thing never reached the UK or, perish the thought, has been 'lost in transit' (soft soap for 'nicked').

Yeah I lost a order from BBTS thanks to UPS delivering it to the wrong address last christmas. Thankfully BBTS gave me store credit to replace it.
Unfortunantly it had my G1-Stepper in it and they didn't have another one...

Don't buy from anyone by the name of carrie spendlove of "carrie and co". i ordered a samurai prowl from her and never received it. i waited 30 days for delivery because it was a supposed pre-order and that's the delivery estimate she gave me. when the item didn't arrive i went to message her only to find that she'd closed down her account. although she's no longer active under that name look out for anyone being over-appreciative of how much you're helping their family by buying from them. i've applied for a claims dispute with paypal so i've just got to wait for a reply from them.
