Default Kurtzman and Orci to hold LIVE video chat

Just in from AICN...

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=24191

As reported by "Merrick"...

Quote--

"Tomorrow (Friday August 18) you'll be able to participate in a live video chat with Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, writers of the TRANSFORMERS movie. The chat will happen via Yahoo tomorrow at 11a.m. Pacific Time (that's 2pm Eastern). Among the information to be gleaned from the chat? The finalized identities of all Autobots/Decepticons to appear in the film. Folks following the long and winding tale of TRANSFORMERS here on AICN may recall that various drafts of the film's script used "place holder" names/identities for robots; the final word on who shows up in the movie will come down in this conference. Alex and Bob will also be answering questions from the Geeky masses - questions you can begin submitting shortly via message boards at the official TRANSFORMERS movie website (which you can access HERE). Be sure to check the official site for the specific Yahoo conference address; we'll update this article as well when the URL becomes available.

This may be a fantastic opportunity to have some long gestating questions answered; I think it's way cool The Powers That Be are pushing open the doors a little in regards to this project. Something like this is long overdue, as far as I'm concerned, and could be a lot of fun..."

(shrugs shoulders) I dunno. All I know is that AICN posted a story saying that there will be a live chat tomorrow at 2pm (EST) with Kurtzman and Orci. Beyond that much, you got me...

1) Things can change quickly.

2) Pure hyperbole.

I'd go with 2) -- Hasbro had to have designers working on the toys, so keeping things to two or three individuals wouldn't be practical.

Sounds like a pretty lame character listing to me, especially on the Decepticon side. But I guess we'll find out.

I got out of a meeting a bit late and didn't catch the whole webcast...
Did they address either-

-The singing/non-speaking Bumblebee rumor?

-Megatron's alt mode?

That Decepticon character list looks like those characters are going to be cannon fodder, at least half of them are probably going to be killed off in the movie

Apparently Barricade is confirmed as the cop car and Blackout is on transport duty... the others are basically as you'd expect from the names, I think.

Default Bumblebee robot mode pics

Considering they got pulled from AICN, probably best not to post them publically until they're confirmed like the Prime robot mode ones were. Have a rummage around on some popular photo-sharing sites.

If that isn't a dummy robot for purposes of keeping stuff under wraps, I fail to see how Hasbro are going to get transformable toys out of it. Which makes me more than a little suspicious that it is...

I am dissapointed that soundwave is out and they turned him into frenzy, I was hoping for that, but if frenzy is done right and justice, then I can wait for a sequel and see if they put soundwave in the second one.

For those that can't find it, it's very easy to do so because it's on the same site as the ones before these.

On-topic, Bumblebee's robot mode looks more like BM Primal. I can't see how this will be implemented onto a toy, unless there's drastic changes and kiddifying in progress.

The vehicle modes look very nice. Those four look like toys. Prime has definitely a badass vehicle mode as well as Ironhide. Reminds me of TKR.

Few stuff in the UK to trade/sell. Measly sales thread.

If that's the actual robot mode, I'm glad that I'm more interested in the story. Prolly won't buy any of the movie toys if they look like that on screen.

No doubt, how in the world are they going to make that kind of transformation into a toy? Maybe we'll end up with action figures that don't actually transform...that'd be lame.

Still, looks cool.

So...is this robot mode Goldbug, or Bumblebee? He seems to pull the transformation from yellow beat up old car to brand new, shiny schnazzy gold car.

I wonder what Jazz looks like....

Seeing the four of them together there, I do like how they compliment each other. Hopefully Ironhide's robot mode will look better than Alternator Prime.

And I must say, I'm sad to hear that the robot mode sketch art we saw of Prime is apparently not legit...I was very impressed. But, it certainly does match the style of Bumblebee.

The early scripts suggest Bumblebee starts off as a 70s Camaro, and gets rebuilt at some point into the latest model.

If legit, I think we'll be looking at more Actionmasters. Which have stood the test of time well past the initial moaning from the fandom, because they were show/comic accurate. These'd have no such laurels to rest on, and whether kids would want a toy called a Transformer that doesn't do the fun thing the name suggests is doubtful.

Right...kind of like what happens with Bumblebee/Goldbug. I doubt they'd change the name, I just thought the cartoon reference was interesting.

I have to agree with the other posts: I don't see how this Bumbelbee design can be made into a toy that transforms. I'm interested to see how the transformation looks in CG...assuming this is not a fake.
