If it isn't this

then it's the most pointless release I've seen.

Transmetropolitan?

When I went to Florida this spring to present my Binaltech paper, my roommate was giving a presentation on the comic. I thumbed through it a bit. It looked interesting, but I never got around to checking it out more thoroughly after I got back.

Also:

Yeah, but when they did it with Unicron, the minicons were just attached in an extra plastic bubble on top of the box.

This set seems to have part of the box actually cut away to incorporate them.

Yep. Transmet.

You really should sit down and read the series. It's really good.

Granted. My point was simply that they've random minicons with larger figures before, so the idea that they might have integrated the whole thing into the actual box isn't entirely far-fetched.

The first collection (Back on the Streets) is setup, the second (Lust for Life) is a great selection of shorts and one-shots... see if those two get you hooked.

All of these minicon moulds are / can be expected to be available in other packs, right?

Two of them are, and the others most certainly will also.

Well it certainly is pointless to me at least, I intend to get the Classics minicons separately...plus I already have one Primus with Unicron head coming.

I don't even like the classics Mini-Cons. If the classic line is supposed to be G1 redos, why are there Mini-Cons in the first place???

Nobody ever said that the entire Classics line would be solely "Geewun Redux". That was just how fans interpreted it.

Well I guess this is done because in Cybertron line, not enough toys feature the minibitch pegs/gimmick...

Props once again to Hasbro's web team for their speedy updates.

Ah. Cool. I'll prolly be getting the minicon packs and pass on this, as I'll prolly get the unicron head release, if still available. I hope the plane and the bike get their own release. I really like those two a lot.

I just bought the Unicron head release on ebay but I'd skip this anyway because I intend to get at least the dinobot set individually.

I think this release is useless also because the minicons serve only to show how badly off-scale they look on Primus...

Hmmm . . . since the link's expired, I'll have to ask. When is it supposed to be coming out, and which minicons were in it, again?

Already out. Two of the Mini-Cons are also available as part of the "Classics" Mini-Con three-packs that are availble in stores right now. The other two will come as part of wave 2, and oddly, they will sport different names than the versions that came with Primus (even though the colors are identical).

So if you already own Primus and want to get those Mini-Con three-packs anyways, you won't miss out anything other than a packaging variant if you don't hunt down this thing.

Wal Mart is doing the same thing with Metroplex. Instead he comes with someone from the scout class. I just can't remember which one.
