Still not finished with the first arc. Surprisingly good, if generic, material. Definitely more serious than I was expecting; "I wouldn't like to be the one that has to tell him he's an orphan."

Cliffy never replies to PM's less than six weeks after they were first sent.

I'm now deeply anoyed that, having a flick through my James Bond collections (mainly to remind myself how the Casino Royale adaption delt with the carpet beater) that Titan seem to have skipped three stories with no explanation between the last two books. It's The Big Broadcast of 2006 all over again.

Now updated with both arcs

Be prepared for a very "It wasn't meant to be the end" sort-of ending, though.

SPOILER! (select to read)
I mean, Cy-Kill, Zod and Casmodon are basically left with the run of Earth, for Christ's sake!

Finished the first arc yesterday. The final battle was sort of anti-climax., in otherwise rather well done story. Strip would have benefited a lot of 1-2 pages more per issue.

Now to figure out which issue I haven't downloaded yet...

Yay!

I was waiting for that missing page you kept mentioning to be added before I read them...just because I like making up excuses to put stuff off.

Now I can read them!

My actual experience with GoBots fiction is frail at best. I've read the eHobby Dimensional Explorers backstory, which I thought was "neat" and I've seen the Rock Lords movies, which I didn't think was very neat at all.

Yet I am oddly drawn to them. Maybe it's because of Tux.

Unhappy

Having a problem with the comic.

I read through Story 1 fine, but the third page of every issue won't display, saying Photobucket couldn't find it.

I pwomiss to hate "" forever if you fix it, Cliffy.

Spengs, as a bit more of a cartoon buff, how much would you agree with the theory that the Rock Lord film was an intended TV serial repacked as a film?

I actually watched the thing on You Tube in 11 parts, so it felt like I was watching a TV serial, honestly.

It certainly didn't have the production values of a theatrical film. I know it's Hanna Barbara and all, but if they'd spent more money on animation and less on Margot Kidder it might have come out a little better.

Since the movie really looked no more impressive than the the TV series, they probably could've broken the thing up into 5 half-hour parts and shown it on TV and no one would have even guessed it was supposed to be a movie (save for maybe the presence of celebrities).

Also, for some reason I have a problem with cartoons where the plot boils down to "item collect!" It always makes me want to go play video games.

Yeh - TBH, if anything the 'film' animation is even cheaper than the few episodes I've seen... also, if you get bored enough to watch the thing with an eye on the timer, every 20 minutes or so there's a cliffhanger-y type event, and then a fade... There's also a fair bit of padding - dunno, wouldn't it be easier to save the money on 10 minutes of animation and simply have the film only run 80mins instead?

More on-topic, while those two stories were all we had for Robo Machines, we did getthis, which gets a full 10 on the Cliffy WTF-o-meter.

The pages won't load but maybe that's because my computer is stupid.

I can't claim to know who Dan Dare is but man, the "borrowed" character model of Cy-Kill is so blatant it hurts. I dunno, you'd think the artist would have added a few more bells and whistles and stylized the design a bit to make it a little less obvious.

Probably the most importan British comic character of all time. Though the artist who drew that doesn't even get his eyebrows right, so it seems your not alone in your ignorance.

What about the Mekon? Don't forget about the Mekon.

Has no one seen the most recent small screen version outside the UK? Egads, for shame.
