Default MP-05 illegal to import without a permit [Australia]

Well. Masterpiece Megatron will be grabbed by Australian customs, without a permit it seems in a completely moronic move.

Glad I don't live in Australia. Next thing you know U.S. customs will seize it in America without the said permit.

By the looks of it you just tell them you are getting one and id guess as long as you dont have a record as long as your arm or a history of firearms issues you get permission and its cool

Default megatron import

Same as the 80's when a walther was used in a bank robbery.
No logic. It a toy. The series has been around forever. A bit paranoid,a
bit in th non reality check. I wonder if they ever checked to see in their
hi tech baggage scanners, that it has no mechanicals, not even a firing
mechanism. These people are trained safety personelle. Kids like adults need to play and dream a bit. As much work and careers are
important, international security protocols shouldn't dictate on how to
have clean fun.

Huh? Why not if the toy can be mistaken as a real gun, at least at first glance? Whether or not the toy has the internal mechanics of a real gun is irrelevant. Cops driving/walking by don't/can't see the internal mechanics, but the exterior and aside from the little Decepticon symbols on both sides, Megatron does look like a realistic gun even with it being oversized. I'd be happy if I were an Australian solely because they're allowing them to be imported at all (and from the looks of things, unmodified not that it's a huge deal). If all you have to do is let the local and state authorities know that you have it, they're cool with it, and it prevents any or most altercations with law enforcement, then what's the big deal?
