Default Transformers,the movie,Starscream.

If anything,Transformers as it is,has two direction. From the guys who
are true fans,if they try to go low res like the go-bots,a lot of people
will lose interest,or stay loyal to the g1 series. You figure the amount
of money, the brass at........... ,they could focus on giving the fans, something good. Being an artist, musician.more resources, better
you can dedicate time and energy to prime art pieces.

First, there's nothing wrong with Go-Bots. For the price they were sold at, they kick the G1 mini-bots' butts in terms of how nice they are figure-wise. I'm thinking of picking up a few of these myself and I have a rather large TF collection, so forgive me if I'm going "low res".

Okay, I gotta ask this, what is a "true fan"? Seriously, what the heck is this? I've seen this term tossed around quite a bit and as far as I can gather, it seems to be a fanboy/girl term used if a person must like such-and-such in the given fandom (like the G1 cartoon and toys for example but not exclusively) to be a fan...or some nonsense like that other than just liking Transformers. Is this close?

Erm...I'm assuming "something good" means something more G1 based like off the cartoon/comic designs going by what you wrote previously?

It's usually "somebody who agrees completely and rigidly with the viewpoint of the person using the term."

Eg: "This is my opinion and its right and if u dont agree with me its becuz ur not a true fan!!!!1111one"

... as best as I've ever been able to discern...

It's like "true/proper/real Transformers" is actually "whatever the person using the term wants it to be and don't you dare argue with me because you're not a real fan and shut up shut up shut up"

And, incidentally, the bulk of the regular Gobot lines kick the arse of just about any 1980s Transformer of the same size - Minibots, combiner limbs, Throttlebots, Firecons/Sparkabots, Triggerwhatevers. Better designed, better built, and most of the time better looking. It's just a shame some people take such a partisan line about toys, really...

Someone needs to open up a new article on Transformers wiki for "true fan", containing only that line.

I mean, that sums it up pretty well.
