Aye -- don't see the problem. And unless someone actually says that that white Prime chap is actually Ultra Magnus and that Orion Pax turns into Prime, well, those ridiculous cameos mean nothing as well.

Don't mean to sound, well... mean, but I'm going to be ignoring the Origin series either way, as (IMHO) it leaves a stain on IDW's continuity.

Denyer's use of a word that begins with an 'au' and has associations with the fourth quarter of the year is correct. Mine is not!

Still, at least Furman hasn't declared the Avengers crossover officicial canon. Though that quote sounds like a diplomatic way of saying he's a bit pissed.

And of course, if the IDW Formies are genderless, what were those provocatively posed Fembotlooking advertising boards for?

Wow, it sounds like a huge amount of pay-off, story-wise. And apparently not set in the past. Hmm!

Aye, I was anticipating it being solely flashback. I'm guessing there'll be some form of narrative split taking in events back in the day.

It should be interesting to see how it deals with the whole femmebot issue

Personnaly I think it should just be put down as that some of them just happen to look like our precoceived notions of feminity.

Some of the Pretender inner robots if painted appropriate colours could be labeled feminine.

I think the only solution is to have a feminine looking mech called Crusher who has is twice as blatantly Masculine as Lord Flashheart

although i would be worried about some of the slash fan fic this would generate in the murkier recesses of TF fandom.

Thumbs up

Well, whatever I think of the character, that does sound awesome!
SPOILER! (select to read)
I've been eagerly anticipating the return of Banzaitron (It's Banzai-Tron, but whatever -- go with the flow). Really, it all sounds rather good -- and I've always felt that the other Combaticons have the potential to be unbelievably awesome characters. They all have their own look -- and furthermore, they look like a bunch of proper kick-arse warriors. Consider me on board.

SPOILER! (select to read)
Removing the hyphen from Banzaitron is probably the bravest bit of revisionism Furman has yet done. My main worry here is Milne will use both the large cast of characters and the prison setting to fill the whole issue with crap injokes

I do like the careful wording in the last bit of Furman's blog there- No unabashed praise for the artist, just some vauge "Well, the covers are nice so the interiors should be" style stuff.

Default Cover...now in color

Image of the cover in color has surfaced over at the IDW Forums. Assuming this is the actual finished product, that is. Take it as you will.

And she's......pink

.....

I thought Furm-lock said that she wouldn't be...didn't he?

"Forget pink and fiesty, this Arcee is mad, bad and dangerous to know!"

There's some ambiguity...

Looks a bit watery... not sure.

I thought those lines across her were meant to be scars or something... but no, it's neon lubricant/energon/whatever-TFs-bleed. Hrm.

Aaah... it's Ultra Magnus. That makes sense what with the script wrap.

Incidentally, everyone can blame Hasbro for there not likely being a non-pastel-pink Arcee for the forseeable future...

http://idwpublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2742

...except when they issue dictums such as "movie characters pre-Earth must be dull and indistinct colours that make it more difficult to tell characters apart."

Question

SO if Arcee were to be in a Titan issue would the Universe explode from the conflict of orders?

Leaving aside the fact I reckon Titan's approach to legal issues is probably more of a flying-under-the-radar "do it and issue apologies later..." deal (maybe not, Hasbro has a lot of eyes on the movie stuff, even if not enough to make sure that continuities line up) the holds on IDW I've noted so far are...

Mandates from Hasbro:
* a reserved amount of ad space per issue
* sign-off on any external advertising (basically, a block on competitors)
* movie characters mustn't be interestingly coloured pre-Earth, to differentiate them from Earth modes
* Arcee required to use pastel pink 'classic' colours

Marvel restrictions:
* likenesses of copyright character designs prohibited... eg, Circuit Breaker, Spider-Man... apparently complicated, since The Best of Simon Furman reprints US #75 with Circuit Breaker and the Neo-Knights, or maybe they're just hoping no-one notices?

Dreamwave restrictions:
* everything up to the point of material with legally-questioned ownership is available... the cut-off point seems to be after the first few issues of G1 V3, also ruling out War Within: Age of Wrath #1-3

Any obvious ones I've missed?
