Looks like they are going back to the classic logo as well.

I wonder what will happen if they fold MM into the mainstream Marvel Universe. It might be a good thing as it would make The Sentry redundant and we'd see the character vanish!

It's going to be weird getting used to the character being Marvelman again...

I'm mildly worried that people attending a comic convention have never heard of the character, though.

So, Planetary will be finished soon and Miracleman's coming back. Didn't think either of those would actually happen. Who'd have thought it?

No worries. They can always read about him on that site that CBR article links to. What was its name? Counter-X or something like that?

Maybe they heard about Miracleman and don't know they're the same.

Some people who are supposed to be writing news on our site declared that this as THE Marvel's big announcement on this Comic-Con is "". Probably because it didn't involve some big fight in even bigger upcoming event. Tools.

The thing I want the most is the reprints of three Moore books. They're not mentioned in any article, but in a video interview Quesada said something which would suggest it will happen. Less thrilled about any new stories.

-Okay, the bomb's dropped. Life goes on. No amount of sulking or worrying changes that. We've got our own lives to live. In that regard, in five minutes time, I am using the autopilot on the Midnight Runner and taking it down the pub. If I go on my own, I go on my own.
-Well. Wait up, you horrible English git. While I'm around, you don't have to go anywhere on your own.
And, one by one, the others follow.
And, one by one, they begin to smile.

I noticed that - it's going to tonk my bandwidth I've also now got to rewrite the history bit, AND get rid of those scans because there's no way I'm ****ing with Marvel... Wildstorm I can handle, but not Marvel. Fun fact - I spent an evening about a week ago doing HTML pages for hosting scans via 4Shared, having basically given up on it ever happening. Kinda glad I've not yet got round to uploading that...

I'm game for Gaiman and Buckingham to at least finish off the Silver Age, as they must have had some fairly detailed plans. It's how jarring 15 years later will be in their styles. Anything further I'm not so sure about - I certainly think some other series, probably written by Jeph ****ing Loeb and drawn by Greg Land, will be in the mix, I'm just not expecting it to be any good. I'm actually currently a little torn, really - I'm overjoyed that the mess seems to be sorted, and that it'll get back into print (again, I'll settle for three affordable Moore trades if that's all that comes of it; the Golden Age is... unnecessary), but how in the hell is it going to live up to the hype? It could be a genuine philanthropic gesture from Quesada/Marvel, a chance for a bit of hardcore comic fan love, but I just don't trust the guy not to flog every dead horse out of anything.

The logo I reckon is simply still under negotiation or something - the old one looks naff. I'm just kinda curious as how they can get the rights to everything else but that... That said, the (awful) Quesada art could just be making things blatant - after all, Miracleman*'s costume had changed to an empty circle by the time Eclipse folded (and I believe Dickie and Johnny's logos were still the 1950s versions).

* = I'm not sure I'll ever, ever unlearn that.

I'm hoping that they turn round and ask Alan Davis to end up doing any art for the new Marvelman stuff. Given that's he is exclusive to Marvel and they don't seem to have him on a regular title he'd be a perfect fit.

Don't tempt fate with mentioning the Loeb/Land combo, that would make me sick to my stomach.

At the same time, though, could it actually be much worse than Total Eclipse? I've read a lot of shite over the years, and that still stood out as awful when I read it recently. A bagful of nerdpoints to anyone who recognises any other characters in that one...

Good lord that was turgid. I remember Airboy from a few comics I had years ago. That is one of the worst crossover type books I've read.

I attend conventions and I have heard of Miracle Man, but don't know anything about him. Somebody know a good site that will bring me up to speed?

Well, it is the greatest website known to mankind.

I'm fairly sure one of the banners said that at one point, anyway. Before people started taking jokes out of context and putting them on ebay listings, anyway...

Exciting news.

Can't help but be slightly disappointed that, short of "RAR! TWILIGHT FANS RUIN EVERYTHING!" and some of the TF toys, this is all I've really heard coming out of Comic-Con. Is it really going to be that slow a year?

Well I imagine he's hoping to get something useful out of the Eclipse stuff he acquired and tbh Miracle/Marvelman is about the only thing there that could earn money.

But yeah, he really should just let it go.

Maybe a bit of good news for you then, Cliffy

Quoted from an article of Newsarama:
Paul Cornell and Leonard Kirk have been tapped for Dark X-Men, which will be a mini. McCann allowed that the book will involve Nate Grey, X-Man.
