Instructions for Ironhide and Sideswipe on Hasbro's website.

Some observations:

It's "Sideswipe", not "Side Swipe" as it has been for the past few years.

Hasbro simply recycled Sunstreaker's instructions, same transformation and head sculpt. NOTE THAT THE ACTUAL SIDESWIPE TOY WILL HAVE A NEW HEAD SCULPT.

Have to say I really don't think very much of the Prowl head sculpt. It just looks wrong somehow. I don't know what's going on with the sides and back of the white "helmet", but it looks like a 1950s wife curl-and-set hairdo. And it surrounds a face that is pure triangle.

Having a lot of trouble with these new Universe figures. Very much a case of, who are these people? I don't recognize them at all. I don't expect them to be exactly the same as G1, in fact I'd be annoyed if they kept recycling the same molds over and over. But I'm not getting the same feeling of recognition as I did with other re-incarnations, like Alternators and Classics 1.0. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker look awkward - the hood part of Sideswipe's chest sits too low and too vertical, and Sunstreaker looks like he's wearing an apron.

Not to mention, Powerglide? And in Ultra size? Seriously, this is what we're reduced to? Why not an Ultra class Tailgate or Outback?

Looks like it's Animated for me. Classics 2.0/Universe = easy pass on the entire line. And probably time to sell my 1.0 Classics.

After seeing how mistransformed Sideswipe is, I transformed my Sunstreaker into his proper "Sideswipe" mode to calm my inner Monk.

The street date, for the stores actually imposing them, on the next wave of Universe and Animated is tommorow, 1 August. (Sadly, my local Targets and Wal*Marts both are sticking hard to them...)

Vanguard, which waves? The ones with Galvatron and Acid Storm for Universe and Elite Guard BB and Swoop for Animated?

I think so.. but the local stores are refusing to put out anything new so we've already skipped a bunch of figures. (I found Blaster, for instance, ONCE, though he had a date of 1 July...)

Did I mention that I really hate the concept of 'street dates'?

So dose anyone have an idea of UK release dates? We have Sunstreaker, Prowl and Octane already but I want these a bit more.

Thinks of Octane and then throws up.

I don't think there is such a thing as "street dates" with Transformers toys except MAYBE for store exclusives. The dates given by Hasbro are just estimates.

Why? More often than not, toys are found in stores EARLIER than those estimates.

Well, like I said, both the Targets and Wal*Marts locally are adhering to the dates religiously. Hopefully this means when I get my girls' school supplies in a few minutes, that I'll find something.

I guess I just don't get this whole notion that every Wal-Mart needs to put things out at the exact moment. Seriously, they're not that organized. I also don't understand the whining that, if it's not out now, they'll never put it out. Honestly, has anyone in the US had a store that didn't put out early waves eventually? Sure, exclusives and end-of-the-run stuff might not show up, but let's not get huffy that Wave 2 is a week later than another place.
As for refusing to tell you when a shipment will come in, that's because they honestly don't know. The local store doesn't exactly call Hasbro and ask for 3 cases of Universe to be shipped on Thursday. Local stores send their need list, and corporate fills it as they can and as they see fit. The stockboys and manager's don't have a personal vendetta against you. They honestly don't know.

Yes. The current and next waves of Indiana Jones figures are not likely to show up in Wal*Marts at all in most of the country because of the over-stocking of Crystal Skull material.

Besides, I'm not whining. The reason that I hate street dates is that it encourages scalping, and scalpers, who show up at that date, clear out the stock, and ebay the whole lot - particularly for figures expected to be 'hot'.

So... Sideswipe comes with Sunstreaker's jet pack and not his shoulder missile like in the artwork and the explicit statement on the package?

The gun can fit in the holes beside the head to be the missile launcher.

Not where i live. I think by now everyone knows i'm basically the only person to not have spotted anything past Ani Wave 1. Guess i'm in the 'Not' category.

Let this not turn into MP TC thread. Please.

That's what happens round here. The shelves are gigantic. Only problem is, they have the same TF's over and over again.
