I think the Classics Grimlock mold would look nice in Snapdragon's colours, actually. And if nothing else, he'd be in the right size bracket.

Astrotrain also would be tricky... you can come up with something close enough for the shuttle mode (they could probably claim basically anyone who turned into a jet), it'd be the sensible rationale for them also being a train that'd be difficult.
Considering some of the more random repaints we've gotten in the line so far, it wouldn't surprise me if they painted it pink and called it Sparkstalker.

Never saw what the big problem with the two-pack moulds was... neither are fantastic, but I prefer them to either of the proper 'Classic' leaders (on looks, anyway).
I actually quite like the Megatron from that pack. He's like a version of G2 Megatron who isn't idiotically huge and/or covered in ugly purple camouflage. It's a shame he doesn't have a right hand, but even then he's a nice toy and one of the few Megatrons available at smaller price point. This 'special edition' repaint actually looks worse than the original, though.

Prime, on the other hand, is basically an Action Master Elite no matter how you slice it.

I'm all for it. It'd be an improvement for Sparkstalker.

Overkill doesn't look that bad. I might get him at some point. I will not get Prime or Megatron. I have those already, and they stink.

Yellow's a little brighter than I'd go with, but otherwise a pretty good update to the character. I'll definitely be getting him and Megs.

I find the Overkill to work very well, despite the fact I usually hate repaints. The colors work really well for the mold though, and if I were still buying transformers, I'd surely add that one to my collection. As it is right now though I will not be buying any Transformers toys for quite some time to come.

The Prime and Megs are just a great big "WTF!" in my book. The molds were terrible to begin with, well at least Prime's was, and now the colors are even worse. The green Megs works so much better than this gray version.

Drag Strip doesn't look bad either. I might just get both. Too bad these guys don't get sold like everything else, because the Cons are getting fewer troops out than the bots.

Has the Optimus deco changed any from the original 2-pk version? Looks about the same IIRC. Some sort of noticeable repaint may have tempted me to get it, but not if its a more-or-less straight re-release, even with the spiffy new packaging.

Even allowing for the 'in the plastic' yellow being less intense, they've ****ed that up a bit, haven't they? That red on the alt mode does not look good at all, and if they were going to use the dark grey to break up the yellow, they should have done the thighs and maybe the forearms in it as well (though a lighter grey or even silver might have been better - silver was basically Dragstrip's secondary colour scheme, after all...).

OP and Megs out here in Singapore. Since buying them would probably result in unwanted weight added to my luggage for my home trip, I didn't buy them...

dragstrip looks far too neon and with an all-wrong set of secondary colors.

a minor(ish) retool could have led to the double front axle being retained (and given a chance for a new headmold while they were at it.)

it just looks like mirage, dipped in the same acid tank animated rescue ratchet was dropped in... thusly, fail.

overkill, on the other hand, is all kinds of win (although everyone seems to think that grimlock mold is awful at holding together).

Wasn't there a 'early version' issue with Grimlock ? Mine didn't have the issue, but I know there were a LOT of complaints about the shoulder connections 'back in the day'.

The little flaps that flip down from his head don't connect, but the arms stay in place on mine.

It's not that they don't stay in place, but i'm starting to think grimlock is a display piece only. I did get my Grimlock asap after release...

The Henkei Version is much better...
