Probably snag Springer. Didn't get Evac before because of space issues, but I love those helicopter transformers enough to give.

the colors seem too light, or it could be the camera used, or just how my computer is showing them. i may pass on the chance, even though i like both molds. hope some better pictures come out with a darker background to tell how the colors really look.

G1 Rotorstorm (tail splits into his shoulders).

Haven't decided whether to pick up this set or Blades. I had Evac before and liked the toy itself, but I didn't care for the colors.

OK, anothe daft question, what/who is Blades? can someone put in a pic?

g1 Blades was part of Defensor. He was also a bad-ass character who didn't take guff from anyone. The recent incarnation of him is Evac, but a red Helicopter instead.

Yeah. Very very red. I think he needs more white, mainly on his head.

Just had a sad thought, if they are doing a re-paint of Evan as Springer, that will mean we won't get a new mould tripple changer in any future Classic's line
That is a shame, just hoping for a good sandstorm in the future now!

Vortex anybody? Tail becomes his arms? Or am I going insane (well, yes, I am actually, but that's irrelevant)?

Right, you asked for it

Springer wasn't really a Triple Changer, though... I honestly think he was designed as a "doublechanger", with a third minor alt mode avaliable (cf. Tracks, the Omnibots, Percy), and was then promoted as an all-out Triple Changer after the success of Blitzwing & Astrotrain. There are no unique features to the car mode (TF and similar aircraft always have wheels on the underside so kids can move them along the ground), and you just have to see how often it was actually featured... so a version of him that only has the mode he used 95% of the time seems sensible enough to me.

Not sure how an Evac redeco as Springer categorically rules a triple-changing Sandstorm out of Universe in the first place, though. If anything, they're more likely to do him to get the set - Octane wouldn't have got made if Hasbro weren't big on the Triple Changers...

I said I was hoping for a tripple changing sandstorm, I guess I should have said a new 'springer' mould in the future! OOPS!!
And why is Octane now called Tankor??

Trademark issues, the can't get the trademark for Octane, and so called him tankorr.

I wonder if they still have the trademark for Mega-Octane...

It's either that or they wanted to secure the name "Tankor" more than they did for "Octane". I'd like to see a Classics Broadside mold. He had two very different alt. modes (carrier, jet), so it could be possible.

I like the Blades repaint more than Springer, but I want Ratbat too. Decisions, decisions...
Right, I have decided to pick up Blades as I prefer his colors over Springer's, and I already have a Sideways (the figure Ratbat is repainted from), whereas I don't currently have the helicopter.

You all can rest easy now.

Ah. I don't have either, and I'm not really too interested in the Ratbat mold, but I like Springer's colors, and as long as the price is decent I won't mind having an extra decepticon to kick around.

At Clay: I love that blue helicopter robot, and the black, maybe apache, helicopter.
On topic again: I am not sure even myself if the toy Hasbro made of Springer was a real triple changer. In the cartoon, his alt modes were more distinct in comparison with the toy, it seemed they gave up trying to make a sleek-looking-battle chopper into an "armored car", and why was his car mode coined that??? Anywho, if they ever did bring out a new mold for Springer ever, I imagine they would rethink his vehicle modes a bit better so they are very distinct. Or, like Evac, it'd be just a recolor with maybe a slight, slight head mold change in the future. On the other hand, the closest thing to a real Springer toy was the Botcon Springer with Cyberton Defense Hot Shot as the mold, that mold did surprising well in the resemblance department. So hopefully, maybe they will bring that toy out en masse in the future.
