Interesting. That's definately a different scale for Long Haul than what is show up in your first post of Long Haul. That dump truck behind that car is a helluva lot bigger than the one in the picture you just showed (with the guy standing next to the tire).

Are they different a completely different type of vehicle, or is one of them faked? I can't tell from the pics.

No fake; the first Longhaul picture earlier in the thread is actually from around October 2007, when it was posted by Josh Nizzi (one of the concept artists) on his blog. I'd imagine in the nine months between that and the date of the scale chart, the model of dump truck was changed once they figured out it was going to be a leg for Devastator, and thus needed to be about the same size as the other leg.

It doesn't seem that whoever made the scale chart ever got that memo, though, as the robot mode stayed unaltered.

I do wish that they hadn't put the watermark right over the make/model of the crane, though.

How else are you going to know the website address of the guys who didn't create the image, though?

One of the interesting things about the two Movies is they've really turned me around on outlandish robot designs. I used to be a very died-in-the-wool humanoid robot kinda guy in a hugely Geoff Senior/Will Simpson vibe.

Beast Wars began the change, with Megatron having a hige T-Rex head instead of a hand and so on. Then Beast Machines and Rat Trap's wheeled legs robot mode took me longer to get on with, but now I think it's brilliant.

Consequently when I saw Sideswipe for the first time in ROTF I was put off because he looked too much like Jazz (especially when he's only really on screen for three seconds and even then he's going by in a blur or it's a distance shot). But I found his red robot concept design rather mundane by comparison, and I thought that's what I really wanted from good ol' Sideswipe. But now I really enjoy the Bay mentality of crazy looking robots (or whoever get's the credit, presumably Bay gets to put the Peter Jackson 'stamp of approval' on robot designs).

Having Trailbreaker in the film would have been great, and though that design of his looks spiffing, it's also very generic and too close to Ironhide. I'd go for the make it more outlandish but with enough design in the face to draw comparison with his G1 image.

And Devastator I thought was fantastic, what a brilliant re-imagining of the gestalt concept, and the combined toy looks drool-worthy.

I had an initial three second disgust at the Arcee triumvirate, but now I think they're the best thing since sliced Prime, I wish they'd been in the movie more, and being closest to the human's height would have made for some nice interaction, not that's that's ever been a problem in these films but hey.

I'm all for weird machines now.

Thanks for rounding those up.

I do quite like the more oddball Constructicons that were left on the cutting room floor. The giant power-saw one is just silly.

That Wheelchair-bot Ozzimo did's pretty cool. Would have loved to see that in the film.

Nizzi's Megatron and Long Haul concepts are so similar to the final product!

The subarine-thing that Ozzimo did was awesome. Also, I like his designs of the Fallen's Earth mode.

Crawford's Tomb of the Primes is wonderful. nice to see so much effort put into the movie.

Church made an entire NEST of stasis pods, and Megatron inspecting it. That's supercool. His artwork is simply amazing.

Ooh, Jung has a Hightower robot mode concept art! Super! There's also a volvo loader nurse, that's also cool. And the buzzsaw constructicon is beyond wicked.

Procter's Microwave bot is cute. OHH that Scalpel's awesome! OVERLOAD! And Ransack! Holy shit, Ransack! Another Decepticon submarine! Depthcharge and Breakaway (Firestorm) too! So it seems that the toys are cancelled concepts for the movie?

Yep. Same situation as Wreckage from the first line, and the Robot Heroes/Legends class Springer.

I am absolutely loving this concept art.

Love the transforming submarine idea. The humans would be in deep sh*t if non-biologicals possessed nuclear weapons.

P.S. Make the submarine yellow.

I adore the Depthcharge toy so it was a win for me to see some artwork for the character.

The Osprey design is really cool.

The Model T. Awesome. Nice to see what other seekers look like.

Maybe they're just too awesome for the film budget.

Steve Jung adds a combo mode for the bikes.

It says "combo mode 03". I wonder what the other two are? The connectors on the toys are all equal, so I suppose the whole thing can rotate as to which two bikes are in front.

Be Procter's Mixmaster art has done wonders for me finding decent ways of arranging all the toy's parts!

It's nice to see the concept robot modes of the other two Constructicons - they're pretty cool! Shame they didn't appear in the film. As to the ones that didn't even have their alt modes in, well, maybe next time...
