Default Guido will be out, for a while

This is news, right?

He said on his twitter he will take a break for a "foreseeable" future.

Wasn't his heart dodgy anyway after that whole Legacy Virus thing?

Alas poor Guido, he's never really equalled the strength of his initial Dreamwave Armada stuff, frequently treated like the second favourite son (not getting to draw the "Big" Armada story because of Don, being second choice for Beast Wars after self same Don had his toys out the pram moment "I'm leaving Transformers forever to go draw real comics! And thus won't be finishing the last issue of this series I've already been announced as doing because I'm too awesome for this shit. So long suckers, you won't see me again!" being the gist of it).

And then when he gets given a big mainstream series to do, it's AHM. Which, regardless of its qualities, never really played to his strengths as an artist, the bright, breezy cartoony art was at odds with the attempted gritty realism (no, stop laughing, I did say attempted...) in the destruction of the cities and so on.

That may be true but AHM did contain some great panels. My favourite was Megatron taking the full whack of Devastators fist.
