Default Takara Vs. US re-issues.....whats the difference ?

Is the Takara made out of die-cast ? If they are, I will definitely buy them instead.

It all started from the begging of TF Takara always made their toys with die cast and rubber wheels ect. ect. And Hasbro always wanted to make them with more plastic to save some cold hard cash

but now reissues the difference I think is just because the laws in the US because in the US you can't have missiles that are under 2 inches long but as far as the die cast and rubber wheels I got the new Hasbro ultra and hot rod and they have all of the above as far as I know they have all the die cast that the Takara ones had in the 80's one and they got rubber wheels yea

To sum it up the differences from the two brands and originals
Hasbro 80's - less die cast & no rubber wheels
Takara 80's - has die cast & rubber wheels
Hasbro now - has die cast & rubber wheels & 2inch long missiles
Takara now - Exactly the same as the original

As for the packaging if you canít tell the difference (.......) I feel sorry for ya

Basically, everything Takara do is good and right.
Everything Hasbro do is bad and wrong.

It's an American thing.

Wrong its just that the Japanese are much more technologically advanced then America. Remember in the 80's, the Japs were gonna take us over in 10 years.

To put in in simplest terms, the molds are different. Hasbro makes some minor alterations to it's reissues, but otherwise they are identical to the originals. The reason I like Takara's reissues (in addition to the collectability factor) is that the new "TRansformers Collection" series comes in these cool white boxes which open like books, include tons of information, and are protected from light. They fit perfectly on your average book shelf. (Except for the larger ones, of course).

They still might, if we don't watch our backs. They are evil, after all

Seriously, though, toy companies in Japan just seem to care more about quality than ones in North America.

Too bad that doesn't carry over to their car companies, too.

On the Ultra Magnus re-issue destined for American, they shortned teh smoke stacks, and lenghed the missiles. As for being die cast, I ahven't opened mine yet to tell.
