Re: Desperate need of help for gift!

How often do you get a chance to see his collection? Look around to see what city formers he has, and make sure you're getting him a different one. They're almost toddler sized, so it's not like they'd be hard to spot. Just look for the biggest toys he has. Not knowing if he keeps them in city or ro...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Here's the tweet about Gohmert's underling finding about Gohmert's diagnosis via politico. When I first read your statement about Gohmert informing his office, I thought it was refuting what I'd seen. Then, I noticed the bit about informing them in person and realized that's even worse. The first ca...

Re: [The video game thread]

So, I decided to try my new SNES controller. My SNES won't start. I tried different games, different controllers. Nothing. I think the last time I played it was around Labor Day (early Sept) when I got a new TV and was making sure I had everything hooked up correctly. Donkey Kong Country had lost al...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Sorry to hear that, Clay. I'm pretty lucky here. Yesterday, at Walmart I think I only saw one guy with his mask on his chin, and at the grocery today, only 2. One person apologized when I called her out for not having her mask on, another snapped at me and told me to bother someone else. I'm too muc...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Found Earthrise Snapdraon at Walmart while picking up jelly; haven't opened him, yet. I was just at this Walmart Saturday killing time while my tire was being fixed, and the TF display was pretty different. Lots of SS Deluxes have moved, and more Netflix Deluxes have come in. Edit: I opened Snapdrag...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

I just bought and assembled 75891 Speed Stars Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car . Where the blocky hood meets the angled doors looks kind of awkward. The rear is curved, which helps it blend into the doors a bit better. I'm always a bit underwhelmed by Speed Stars since they don't use through axle const...

Re: Power Of The Primes Abominus

Nice review, but could use a few paragraph breaks. For the back, I take a narrow LEGO Technics piece that's L-shaped, put the 5-mm pegs on the extra hands through two of the holes, then balance that on Hun-Grr's tail. It fills out the shape nicely. I just have to remember not to lift him by this. I'...

I'd like to see 3P reviews. Do you have multiple figures of the same character so you could do a compare/contrast?

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

I know this probably shouldn't be my main takeaway from the essay Clay linked to, but now I'm wondering if the phrase "American Idiot" exists outside of Green Day. Was it a phrase that existed before that album and I just wasn't aware of it, did the band invent a phrase that's entered the lexicon, o...

Re: [The video game thread]

Last month, a retro/used video game store opened up just down the road from me. They also have a few toys, but no TFs. I bought a SNES controller with a 10 foot cord, so now I can play my old games without dragging my system halfway across my living room. I don't know if a niche store opening during...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Skyquake - Where did you get Overload? The comic shop I got Scavenger at said they won't get him until November, and the only other place I've seen SS Leaders is a Target in NH. My work said anyone who travels more than 60 miles away is required to self quarantine for 14 days, so I won't be going th...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

Denyer - Yeah, that's the one. I wish that'd made it to stores. Between Cliffjumper/Bee/Hubcap, Ironhide/Ratchet, and Arcee/Elita-1, it looks like removing a chunk of alt mode as an "accessory" may replace bot limbs under the jet wings as the most annoying category of Hastak just giving up. They cou...

Re: OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS TOYS NEWS

I think I saw a prototype Arcee posted on this forum years ago, before the T30 came out. My memory may be wrong, but I recall it being much better than any Arcee released since. I think the key was letting Arcee's legs form the rear of the car, and not getting hung up on the curves not matching the ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Denyer, I think Heinrad is referring to this one , which is different than the two you're thinking of. I haven't acquired anything recently, but have opened the ones I mentioned before. I agree with ganon578 about SS Scrapper. The vehicle mode looks a bit rough, but the pinnned wheels and articulate...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Denyer, do those little ball joints in the ankles actually support that much weight, or does the design of the figure just not allow it to bend those joints any more? I made a LEGO flamethrower for Hotlink using one of TLK Leader Megatron's flame effects. I found enough smooth tiles to finish my red...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS #60 Scrapper - Not opened yet. I saw him and Sentinel Prime at Target in NH Saturday. So, that wave is out there. That store was also the first place I saw SS Scavenger in a big box store ever, or any SS Leaders in a big box store in a while.

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

The interstate travel restrictions in my area were lifted enough that I was able to visit my parents for Father's Day weekend in New Hampshire. Masks aren't government mandated in NH like they are here in Rhode Island or in Massachusetts, but most people were wearing them. The portion of NH people n...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Yesterday was black and purple Seeker day. Flame Toys Skywarp - I got their Bumblebee a while ago and liked it. I'd avoided their other kits since they all had box art that made their pelvises look oversized. But, it'd been a while since I build a model kit, Barnes & Noble had just reopened, and non...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Playmobil Back to the Future DeLorean - I've never intentionally bought Playmobil before, though I did pick up some skeleton figures at a thrift shop that I now know are Playmobil. I've seen Playmobil compared to LEGO and don't really get it. I guess the PM figs look like large LEGO minifigs. The b...
