Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Picked up the Age of Apocalypse Marvel Legends, because I'm a sucker for that story. I really like having a Wild Child to go with Sabretooth, but I must confess the Morph figure is a massive disappointment.

Re: X-Men is getting a bit meta (recent-ish comic spoilers)

Hickman's X-Books have been interesting. I'm happy to get the taste of the X-men vs Inhumans era out of my mouth, and there are some plot threads and ideas that I'm curious to see how they play out (the Mystique/Destiny thing, for sure). I don't think resurrection is going to work as an ongoing mcgu...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

I did my first customy thing recently, combining the somewhat recent Lex Luthor mech with some parts from a Spider-Man/Mysterio set that just came out, and I'm very happy with the result. Now, I'm sourcing parts to turn a War Machine Buster set into Nimrod. This is my first time even attempting some...

Received a couple of the things that I got on the eBay, specifically a Doc Ock minifigure (as I'm working on getting the Sinister Six) and the blindpacked Mr. Miracle. Have a couple sets arriving tomorrow, as well.

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

Picked up the Black Widow's Helicopter Chase set from the forthcoming movie as a) the only Black Widow minifig I had was the Infinity War one with blonde hair, and b) it has Taskmaster. Not a bad little set, and the helicopter isn't half bad. My biggest complaint is that Taskmaster doesn't have a pr...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

Fair enough. I hadn't had occasion to use TFU for a few years until recently, when I was trying to find specific information about release dates, and I couldn't find anything on toys for several years. It looks like, while the site updated for a while afterword, they hadn't added any new merchandise...

Is TFU still going? I know the site still technically exists, but there's nothing post 2016, I think?

Exactly. When I'm following the instructions, I'm able to shut off my anger and anxiety and just go through the motions of putting it together.

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

It's not that it's intimidating, and I certainly wouldn't expect to be putting together transforming Dinobots out of the gate, or anything. It's just that my interest in LEGO is aesthetic and therapeutic; I enter a kind of zen state when I'm following the instructions that allows me to calm down, an...

Re: General LEGO discussion (inc. collectible minifigs)

My local store doesn't do this. They just put them out on a table, and every time a new wave of blind-packed figures comes in, the store is swarmed by people feeling up packages. Super great if you're prone to migraines and wander in on the wrong day.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying The Boys is bad. Just that the shades of grey thing isn't exactly novel.
