As someone who teaches teens, bullying is the same as ever but also very different. Social media has made it easier for bullies to harass others outside of a physical space, and it's harder for schools to deal with. We can deal with bullies if it happens in school, but if there's a dogpile on someon...

It's really not bad on the language front, and the romance stuff is easily avoided since you're making all those decisions. The first game has these enemies called husks that could be disturbing depending on how old your kids are, and the third game has lots of them, plus versions for all the alien ...

Wow, I'd seen the toys in the latest issue of Game Informer, so I was actually pumped. They look pretty bad combined, though. Remind me of some of the Robots in Disguise combiners, actually. At least the game looks like it's going to be an improved version of War for Cybertron, which was already a p...

Happy Holidays from High Moon Studios

So, they're very likely to do a bunch of multiplayer skins as DLC again, and I'd kind of like to see this one next Christmas.

I've been using it for a little over a month now, and it seems pretty good so far. Beats Vista and I'm not sure how much continued support XP will have.

I've been pleased with Avast! Antivirus, and I think Spybot Search and Destroy is still king of the hill.

I don't know if it was just in the first run or not, but I thought that if you bought the PS3 version, you also got a download code for Steam.

Lord of the Rings Toys

So I've been moving my collection to the basement (still on display, just displaced) for the past two weekends in between bouts of Skyrim, and I remembered how much I like my LOTR collection. I don't have every figure, but I did end up with lots, and while dusting them off and putting them back on s...

Went to Spain (with students) last year and am going again next summer, but I've really only been to Barcelona, Zaragosa and Madrid so far. Barcelona's awesome if only to see Gaudi's work, and Madrid is just a great city for walking around in. The big concern by the time you and I will be there is i...

I'm planning on taking the leap and becoming a PS3 owner with the Black Friday bundles. If I play it on a regular old non-HD TV, are the graphics just not as good, or will it cause me other problems? And any recommendations for decent quality 2nd controllers that aren't crazy expensive? There shoul...

I worked 3rd shift back in 2004, and I didn't really have trouble adjusting. That was with full-time classes, too. However, I've always been more of a night-owl anyway, so that's probably how it worked out so well. Sucks about your accident, especially if you were at fault. My ankle is still hurting...

Portal 1 is probably slightly better on the PC due to a few puzzles that needed some quick reflexes, but I'm pretty sure that both have the option to use a gamepad if you prefer. Likely both compatible with the 360 controller, too.

Whatever device (flash drive, external hdd, etc.) you want to back up to needs to be formatted as FAT32 for the PS3 to recognize it. I would recommend selecting individual files, because I tried the PS3's built-in option to backup the harddrive when I replaced mine a few weeks ago, and it didn't get...

I had an annual RRODfest every November until the second version of the chipset came out, and it's been smooth sailing since then.
