Re: [The video game thread]

I got the Miles Morales game back in March for my birthday, and I loved it. It's a lot shorter than the original, but in some ways I think that was to its benefit. The sheer number of side-quests and distractions in the first Spidey game felt a little ridiculous when you consider the stakes of the ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

My only real issue is opening the chest to get the head out when transforming to bot mode. It's hard to open the compartment, and the center head crest doesn't quite fit when folding the head out. It rubs against the barrel, and I think I see a stress mark forming. Am I doing something wrong? I don...

Re: [The video game thread]

After getting a Platinum on Spider-Man PS4 (woohoo! my third Platinum!) and taking a side-step to complete the main campaign in Sonic Colors, I found Spider-Man: Miles Morales on sale so I decided to bite (har-har). I've finished the campaign plus a lot of the extras, took a look at the remaining tr...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

June 2021 was the last time I posted in this forum section. Glad to see it's still alive and doing well! I've been on a major drift away from the fandom, though I do enjoy seeing other's posts about new stuff. My heart really hasn't been into collecting for various reasons - I still like Tran...

Re: [The video game thread]

I've been horribly out of the loop on this site for far too long. I can't even recall what I really talked about last, and I've made an insane amount of acquisitions since my last post, nearly a year ago. Let's start with what I can remember that I maybe didn't mention before, and then I'll give a b...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS 86 Grimlock Box was beat up in the store, but the figure inside was untouched. Very nice figure! Pretty chunky and big; good size for the leader class. With the shrinkage of many of the upcoming figures (Galvatron? Rodiums Prime?) with higher price points, this one feels fine to me at $50 USD. I...

Re: [The video game thread]

Just to add to my backlog of games I never have time to play ( ) I picked up WWE 2K18 Deluxe on the Switch. It doesn't perform very well (30 FPS Max) but it is pretty fun to play here and there in singles matches, and has a really good roster of classics and somewhat current wrestlers. I hav...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Yeah, it's like a skiff, isn't it? Is that the right word? I don't know if that's the right word. I mean the boat with the big extensions on either side and another one down into the water. I wanna call it a space-skiff, but that may not be right. But yeah, there's something fun about leaning into ...

Re: [The video game thread]

Sale for May the Fourth, so I picked up Super Star Wars on PS4. Haven't played it yet, but I have played it several times on the SNES. Also picked up NBA 2K21 on Switch since it's cheap. Every year I tell myself I don't need the new 2K game, and every year it goes on deep discount towards the e...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

I recently went through a major overhaul of my collections, mostly due to space, but also partly due to time to enjoy them. This meant that Transformers were also included, so I forced myself to sort them into 'buckets'. This project was much more difficult than I thought, since it really meant givi...

Re: [The video game thread]

Quite a bit of gaming stuff over the last weeks/months: For the N64, I tried to help out my display by getting a Retrotink 2X Mini . It helps the N64 on HDTV's significantly (though it doesn't make them HD like magic or anything) and it's cheaper and (potentially) more useful than the Eon Super 64. ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS72 Starscream (from the Bumblebee movie): I liked the Blitwing figure and expected this to be very similar, but it really wasn't. It's fun in its own right and looks pretty nifty too. The alt mode reminds me of the T-16 Skyhopper Luke's playing with in ANH... it's very swooshable . Soundwave w/ R...

Re: Covid 19 / everybody PANDEMIC

Got my first shot of the Moderna vaccine yesterday! Woohoo! Looking forward to getting the other in a few weeks. The drive-thru system I was sent to was streamlined and fast. I figured I wouldn't be eligible to get a vaccine anytime soon, but the phases changed a bit where I live and qualified by wo...

[/quote] COTW! I should play that again. I don't have any of the expansions but I could crawl around in the underbrush for awhile. You should! It's not a game for everyone, but for whatever reason it is right up my alley with interest & the gameplay. "I'll play for 20 minutes" typicall...

I believe the link is: wrapup.playstation.com

Re: [The video game thread]

Just as I wrapped up my quest for all Gold/Diamond animals in COTW, a new map was released ( Te Awaroa National Park ). Downloaded it yesterday and the first animal I harvested was a Gold level Feral Goat! What a way to start! Now there's only a couple Golds left for me to get on that map. Just befo...

Re: [The video game thread]

Reached a personal goal in theHunter: Call of the Wild, which was to get a Gold level of every animal in the game (some animals are on multiple maps, so I just stuck with the animals themselves). The last was a troublesome coyote, but I stumbled across one while hunting whitetail deer. Now I'll be l...

Re: [The video game thread]

Sony was nice enough to put together an individualized 'year-in-review' thing for users, so I took a peek at what I did on my PS4 over 2020. I had already known that I didn't play much of anything besides theHunter: Call of the Wild this year. It was simply too much fun, so much stuff to do, and a l...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

About a week or so ago I found SS86 Jazz at Walmart. Passed on Kup and Blurr, since I don't have any interest in those two. But Jazz is pretty great. Very clean aesthetic (as it should be for the cartoon) but I think it has enough panel detail to work in a Classics collection. Even though I have the...

Re: [The video game thread]

I was impressed with a wireless 8bitdo controller for my TG16 Mini, so I went ahead and ordered ones for my SNES Mini (but bought the rainbow buttoned Super Famicom version) and my Genesis Mini. Both are well made and work exceptionally well, just like the TG16 one. I'll be picking up one for my NES...
