Hmm... This is a toughie, as I don't want to get into a argument about Canonocity. Here is what I consider canon categories GENERATION ONE AND TWO - G1 Comic - Classics Club Comics - G2 Comic - Beast Wars - Beast Machines - Post G1 Club Comics/Universe RID is Stand alone UNICRON TRILOGY - Armada - ...

I think only Headmasters was supposed to be a direct continuation of G1 (created because Takara didn't want to wait for The Rebirth to be completed and dubbed).

Masterforce and Victory were (AFAIK) supposed to be pretty much stand alone...

I think we can all agree that the problem with Armada-Cybertron is that it was the same company making the show over and over again. This is not a good thing because the dialogue ends up all the same and it also meant the same voice actors over and over again with very little variation. Was it the ...

I've been on a Beast Wars marathon for the last couple of days, and am now in the 3rd season. I must say -- this series is friggin' awesome ! I still stand by my enjoyment of SL as a series (CGI and all), but the complexity of Beast Wars is unmatched in TF lore... I can now say that SL is the best J...

what I actually meant was regarding entire TF series (not that we can't branch out :)). I meant to ask if you enjoy the various TF series as standalone or part of a larger "maxi-series" (i.e. Beast Era, Unicron Trilogy), and whether your overall enjoyment of one series is affected by the q...

TF Series - Stand alone vs. larger tapestry

Hi all, I was wondering about your opinions on TF series as stand-alone series or as part of a larger tapestry, and your enjoyment of them as such. For example: (1) Do you think of Beast Wars and Beast Machines as 2 halves of a single series or as seperate consecutive stories? AFAIK, BM starts right...

BTW, what is the general consensus in these parts regarding episodes downloading? Are fansubbed versions (like TV-NIHON's) more acceptable than DL'ing of english speaking series?

like I remarked in the other thread I started (which has kinda lost its direction, since we're talking about CGI on both :deadhorse: ), I don't think the CGI is perfect on SL, but it was my favorite (over GF and BW by a small margin)... Could it have been better? sure Was it perfect? of course not D...

I'm proud to shake your hands (hand buzzers and all) and bring about such an open-minded discussion ;) RE: Superlink \ Galaxy Force CGI - not gonna agree here, but it did make me want to re-watch Beast Wars and Beast Machines, and as these (especially BW) are kick-ass, that's a good thing! I know th...

But in terms of the the actual ANIMATION? The movement, the "acting", the actual telling of the story, presentation of the characters, and portrayal of the action? The CGI in the Unicron Trilogy is SHIT. It is grade-school student-level untalented bullSHIT. I cannot hold a CANDLE to the B...

:wtf::wtf::wtf: You serious? as far as "smoothness" and "flexibility" of movement go, yeah. what I meant was that I get the feeling that those who critic SL and GF for their CGI animation want the 'bots to "move" like G1 or BW, which (IMO) seems a bit odd considering t...

[quote="FortMax"]Have you even compared the CGI from BW and SL? Beast Wars Season 1's CGI puts Superlink's to shame despite being eight years older.QUOTE] sorry, can't agree with that... I think (like I wrote in another thread) that the CGI in Superlink (and Galaxy Force for that matter) e...

well, again, it's a matter of personal taste, I guess.. while I found BW's CGI look really nice, I didn't like the fact that everything (including animals, locales, etc) seemed too "robotic". I think that both Super link and Galaxy Force captured the feel of the big alien mechanical robots...

In my opinion: 1. the overall arc - I found it to be more epic and to me, more enjoyable 2. the animation - the combination of CGI for TF and seibertronian tech and traditional cel for everything else made the TF appear "robotic" and "alien" enough (unlike, for example, the G1 er...

I finally got a hold on BEAST MACHINES... Gotta say - plotewise, it's very interesting - a change from other TF series and even from its prequel series (Beast Wars). I can see why opinions are divided regarding this one. The animation is nice (I still like the later CGI animated series like Super Li...
