So I just got the Autocracy TPB.

LOVE the art, but not quite digging Zeta Prime's design. Looks like a cross breed of some digimon and Turn A Gundam.

Was a bit disappointed by the lack of extras though

So i just got Transformers Classic UK vol 3. I must say the Quality control is better on this one. The colors are less "smudge-looking", the darks have defined gradient. Then again, most of these stories were reprinted before in the "Best of UK" series and before that from Titan. Maybe they just re-...

believe it or not, i enjoyed this more than Avengers.

This makes avengers looks like a childish kid's cartoon.

I wish more superhero movies would take themselves seriously rather than peppering every minute with jokes.

The MTMTE's TPB does add in all the bloody variant covers, promotional art, meet the crew, 2 pages of references, and stuff from Miline's sketchbook. Collected Comics are supposed to be less. That's the way it's always been, until now I suppose? Variant covers and all that rubbish... give me the da...

So's G2, but he's happy to shit all over it in ReGeneration One. Sadly yes. Instead of treating Regeneration One like actually part of the Marvel continuity, he's treating it like a Elseworlds title. Revelations is actually half good. Spotlight Cyclonus is probably the best single issue Furman did ...

Yeah, there was a petition, I'm not sure how many people signed it though. On the more recent sales figures list the RAH continuation was IDW's worst selling Joe book, so it'll be interesting to see how long that can continue for. I dunno about worst selling but from what i've heard, even the RAH f...

Stormbringer - No idea why so many folk adore this. Its one of Simon Furman's psuedo-scientific lectures and is as dry as old toast and about as much fun to read as Death's Head 3.0 which mined similar scientific fancies. I think the art by TF poster boy Don Figueroa has something to do with it. Oo...

I think AHM gets most of its' bad press from middlebrow fandom, TBH. In isolation, brought from a bookshop or something by someone who's never heard of a minor league licence renter like IDW or a failed Alpha Flight writer like Furman it's not bad. The basic set-up, at least enough of it to get the...

I don't think so. It was Furman blogging that he still ideas for a "proper" conclusion to Marvel US/UK series and getting fans to sign an online petition, tweeting Chris Rydall constantly and annoying IDW on their message boards, and facebook. hmm, ok. But im sure Larry Hama didnt do that...........

As much as Prime's death was epic, i'd say Dinobot's was not only sadder but more tension filled. For one thing, there was never any doubt that Prime would curb stomp his way through the decepticons and defeat megatron. He has come close to defeating Megs a number of times with Megs only coming out ...

Kicking in at Marvel G1 #332 (which, pleasingly, would be the issue that the US series would be at if it had come out this August, I think) could have had call-backs and follow-ups to plotlines laid down throughout a comic that ploughed on through the Beast Era, quizzed over Robots In Disguise, ski...

I'm not sure if I have enough emotional investment to be angry at this comic for any reason. It's long been projected exactly where its levels of creativity and craftmanship will sit, so with that accepted there's not much to do but to point out some of the pleasant surprises and indulge in some ni...

IIRC Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis has a sentient robot as the heroine. Because the first act (or war as HG calls it now) of Robotech is the Americanized version of the original Marcoss . :p Or rather i mean, together there on the list. Isnt robotech season 1 and Macross THE SAME? (like you mentioned) ...

Ok am i the only on that is officially pissed off at Regeneration 81? Furman is doing his old thing again with LOTS of foreshadowing about future plot elements. -Yes the first half reads like the current Robots in Disguise -I was hoping for more on the Last Autobot. No one tried to put him back toge...

Maybe it's more like the papal name change, or the Roman emperors. It can be an homage to someone from the past, or just something that sounds wicked awesome. hmm could be. Cos before i watched season 3, i always thought Orion Pax was renamed Optimus Prime as a play on the word "Optimise". He was r...

I'd assume so. In Animated it was just a rank. Optimus became Optimus Prime when he assumed the rank of Prime. Ultra Magnus was just Ultra (I'm assuming here) before he took charge. In the Movies it looks like it's some kind of hereditary thing. Something passed down from the original 13, or at lea...

"Prime" name change?

How does the "Prime Name Change" work? Does it work differently in different continuities? Orion Pax got renamed Optimus Prime upon becoming a Prime (whether acquiring the matrix or being appointed one) If that were the case, shoudnt Hot Rod have been renamed "Hotimus Prime"? Why wasnt Ultra MAgnus ...

flipped through it at the comic shop.

Is it just me or does the art look a little wonky in places.

Arms are wayyy to short at times (the first full body shot of Springer for example) and heads look out of proportion to the bodies.

Anyone managed to grab the Senor variant?
