Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Another exciting addition to the catalog are the first screen-accurate Transformers from the original Generation One cartoons—because they don't transform.
Transformers often transform on screen. If the toys don't transform, that's not screen-accurate.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I opened SS WWII Bumblebee . As exepcted, he's a total shellformer. I've seen pics of a TLK Voyager Optimus that someone had partially disassembled in order to make the bot and truck modes simultaneously. You could probably do the same with this guy. The only issue is you'd have some gaps in the shi...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I guess he wasn't that easy to figure out. I'd realized the thumb claws don't fold in, though I did try that on my first attempt. I just had the passenger compartment resting on the connected thumbs. I was talking about the finger claws that end up on the inside of the treads. There was just enough ...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Rampage is out now: I saw him (well, six of him) in the store yesterday along with the G1-ish Prime from Bumblebee. Judging from the size of DoomPogo, Devastator will be... rather large. Not as tall as any of the stand-alone Titans, I don't think, but probably heavier. I saw him, too. speaking of w...

Re: [The video game thread]

A few years ago, I took a crate, small TV, and Atari 2600 and made one of those tables with a video game built in, like you'd see at pizza parlors in the '80s. Unfortunately, I didn't secure the joystick well, and it fell off when I moved the table to redo my floor. I could reattach it, but I doubt ...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

SS Scrapmetal - I'd be satisfied with this guy even if he didn't turn into part of Devastator. He's the largest SS deluxe I've seen so far, a hair taler than Ratchet or Lockdown, and quite a bit bulkier. He's more of an update to G1 Scavenger than SS Scavenger will be, with the treads forming the l...

Re: Who's buying all these Funko Pops?

I've never paid attention to RRP, either, since I dislike them, and was just guessing. I checked Amazon, and they seem to retail for US$11 normally, with special editions going for more. So, probably more comparable to TF Legends than Deluxes. Still, I'd say that Legends TF has got to cost more to p...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

There's been a lull in new stuff I want, so I finally broke open the TLK Dinobots I bought last year. They're both a definite step up from their AoE counterparts. Strafe has a lighter blue now, which contrasts much better with the black than AoE's navy blue. The red pteranodon eyes also stand out mu...

Re: Who's buying all these Funko Pops?

It's really interesting to see the stuff that captures the public's spare cash and I'm constantly boggled at the insane popularity of these things. Yet, I've never seen anyone buying them! Where are they all going?! inflatable dalek and Dead Man Wade have each bought some, and one of my coworkers h...

Re: Remembering that our old toys actually exist!

I never got a TF: Prime Bee, so I decided to use one from the movie-verse garage 3-pack. This means I brought out my TF: Prime Autobots to see which Bee goes best with them. Turns out it was the TLK wave 3. While determining this, I also played with my TF: Prime Autobots for the first time in quite ...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Tribute Movieverse 'Bee Evolution 3-Pack - I already own the TLK wave 3 'Bee in this set, but it was at Marshall's for US$20, which seemed like a fair price for the other two. One is, I think, the first movie 'Bee toy, a '77 Camero whose bot mode has taillights in the toes instead of the normal mov...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

CHUG Megatron - With the NERF gunish alt mode from a comic shop. He's opened, but the only sign of age is the safety orange fading to dull yellow, which looks better, The panels that cover the forearms are much appreciated after years of hollow gaps. I like being able to look through the scope, but...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Thanks for the info, ganon. Warcry - You're right about the benefits of conserving space, but, I don't think that's what Hasbro's doing. If anything, sitching from carded to boxed Deluxe figues wastes space, and that angled part off to the left side of each package seems mostly wasted space. Walmart...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I saw larger-than-Deluxe Siege figures in store yesterday. I picked up a box thinking, "This must be one of the new Voyagers", only for it to be Ultra Magnus. I don't care much for the character, but the figure looked well enough done that I was considering it, even at $50. The weathering put me off...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Titans Return Wingspan & Cloudraker Yay! Found a used - sorry, pre-owned - set at ID toys for £17 which I er, pounced on. Glad to have these, but still puzzled by the way Hasbro sold these - why not two vs packs, instead of shoving the other twins in expensive giftsets..? I think the idea was to do...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Cog and Flywheels are mercifully not really impacted much by this, but yeah, it looks pretty ugly. There's not even any real attempt to make it look like anything on Cog, he just has a couple random blobs of silver. I actually just thought the first one I'd picked up had gotten paint slop on it, un...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Target sells Siege Deluxes for US$20 (Can$26,53, £15.56), which is the same price they sell SS Deluxes for. PotP Deluxes are US$17, Cyberverse Warriors are US$15. Walmart started selling SS Deluxes at US$20, but then dropped them to US$17. I haven't seen Siege at Walmart yet, so I don't know if that...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I'll probably reread LSotW this summer, when the weather's nice enough to sit outside on my deck at night. I managed to get Darkwing out of Starscream's shoulder joint. I have to turn Dreadwing 90 deg to apply enough force, but it works. I opened Skytread/Flywheels . I'm pretty impressed. I much pre...

Newest Aquisitions!

The vehicle mode looks like a protoform's go-kart though and isn't very good. Especially as she has too nubbins which catch on the ground in front of the rear wheels. whyyyyy? There are little notches in the clear part of the roof that these nubbins slide into to hold the roof in place in bot mode....

I spent most of Saturday afternoon hitting 2 TRU, 2 Targets, 2 Walmarts, and a comic/toy shop looking for PotP the next state over, only to find Bludgeon and Thermidor instead. It only took about 9 months, but I finally opened that Thermidor . He was in my small pile of unopened figures that I hadn...
