Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

In the interest of curiosity being certainly lethal to felines; would people still here be interested in trying to raise TF Archive from the ashes? Or is it generally accepted that the amount of dust laying on this place now really defines it properly as an Archive and should be left as such? Askin...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I only connected them the 1 time when I first got them, but I remember Mixmaster connecting to Scavenger securely without any extra help. The instructions don't seem to show it, but that little inch long cylinder on the top of Scav's torso mode compresses slightly, then rests inside two of Mix's wh...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Got a couple of sets of Micromasters in the mail yesterday from Hasbro Pulse (powertrain, high jump, blackjack, hyperdrive). They're cute. Thankfully the weapon modes can be ignored. Funnily enough, they included a flyer about giving me a free pack of trading cards from the card game, but forgot to ...

Re: Siege micromasters wave 5 (ratbat et al)

Gaaaaaaahhhhh, I'm weak. Bought both wave five sets on ebay at nearly 100% markup. And I did this after pre-ordering the Frenzy and Wingthing et al set. Why did I ever buy that stupid Soundblaster...

Re: Siege micromasters wave 5 (ratbat et al)

I have thought of clearance/surplus stores, but it's probably too early for that since Siege is still in retail (maybe in a few months?). The problem with those is that it's an absolute dice-roll as to what you find, so looking for particular figures isn't normally fruitful. I find it remarkable tha...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

Don't much follow tfs media-wise these days, but I still collect/am fascinated by the figures. I still come here because of the people that a) I've known since forever and b) can post coherent thoughts.

The doubledealer is so on-point that you'd think it were fake.

Siege micromasters wave 5 (ratbat et al)

Did they under produce these? They're out of stock at both the specialty transformers shops and more general retailers like amazon and walmart. I just bought waves one and two from bbts at a slight clearance, and found waves three and four on hasbro pulse, but wave five seems sold out everywhere. Of...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Here's Scorpnok, Fast Track, Arcee, and Sky Lynx.

Apparently Fast Track can also be reconfigured into a staff for Scorpy. Neat.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I just looked up Mixmaster on tfwiki to see if they had the art you're talking about It's in the Devastator collage. Not sure why, but it always stuck in my memory. And yeah, I figure Payload would be the go-to redeco for Long Haul. Not sure about Overload, both because of lack of existing tangenti...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I stopped at 3 Walmarts and a Target this weekend, and none of them even had space marked of for SS Leaders, So, I bought Scav at a comic shop for $62 instead of the MSRP of $50. I was more worried about the all sales are final, no refunds or exchanges policy than the extra cash, but he seems to be...

Re: Official manga translations!

These are the ones that were concurrent with the Japanese exclusive stuff (Headmasters onward), yeah? I seem to remember something about Dezaras's wife and such silliness being in/from these, but I'm not sure.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Wonderfest Japan is happening this weekend, so they've put out new stuff in the Transformer booth. Studio Devastator (w/Scapper and Overload!), MP Arcee, and MP BW Tigatron. Tigatron's an upscaling of Cheetor, it seems. He looks great, but apparently costs north of $200, so they can keep the thing. ...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Scorponok looks pretty cool, but Hasbro's chinsiness at the Titan price point is always disappointing. The originals always look like much more fun as playsets. The new ones just don't come with many accessories, and they feel lacking. Sadly a vintage Scorpy with all his bits is even more expensive...

Re: Custom Siege Pinpointer (or: babby's first dye job)

Yeah, I was using some acetone to soften the pieces first. The plastic took the dye, but poofed up, for lack of a better term for physical distortion. I haven't read about the process in years. I might should try again... having a small hotplate to use outside counts towards that. And yeah, the type...

Re: Custom Siege Pinpointer (or: babby's first dye job)

Nicely done!

The one time I tried dying plastic, it technically worked but deformed the piece badly. Good to see someone else have some luck with it.

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Got a link? Sounds interesting. I think I saw it somewhere on TFW a month or two ago, so I don't think I'd be able to find it again. Sorry. :( Is this it? It doesn't have the toy colors versions mixed in, but these are good fun. Also, I saw a couple more Spinisters yesterday. Would you like me to p...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

https://news.tfw2005.com/2020/01/01/new-transformers-listings-studio-series-earthrise-and-cyberverse-403183 More new listings (studio blitzwing and skipjack) mixed in with some we've before (like Snapdragon). I'm guessing Skipjack = yellow Rampage for Devastator's leg. I just hope he's in the wave w...
