Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Agreed. Even though he's one of my favourite Marvel characters, a Scorponok that can't fistfight Shockwave doesn't hold much appeal. I completely get why they want to make him a Titan, but a TR Leader with the helmet gimmick would have been the best way to make the character as I visualize him. Doe...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

And I should say that I've seen people do really cool things with multiple Reflectors in a combined spaceship mode. I've seen some especially creative stuff done with people who were mixing and matching the TV and toy-colours figures. Got a link? Sounds interesting. Studio Series Scrapmetal Ended u...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Just thought I'd pop in to say that I found a Spinister a week or two ago as well. He's lovely, really. Also, I found Studio Mixmaster last week, so I'm up to 5/8's of Devastator by number, if not by mass. I also grabbed the 2007 Megatron too, and he easily has enough paint for him and the ROTF Mega...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Masterpiece Raiden now confirmed.

No release date/ETA yet. This will be the first combiner in the masterpiece line, I think.

Unique Toys have showed an early prototype of AoE Galvatron

That's not a transformer. That's some kind of sorcery or voodoo.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Apparently we're getting a masterpiece Raiden: https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/possible-masterpiece-raiden-coming/44268/ To save some googling, Raiden is the train combiner from Headmasters, which was actually a Diaclone figure complementing the likes of Devastator. It wasn't incorporat...

And, due to repeated exposure, K-Pop. These kids can dance!
I saw them on saturday night live, I think. I don't much care for that kind of music, but their choreography is amaze-balls.

Anyway, perennial favorite:

Re: YouTube and the FTC COPPA Act

It was fun while it lasted... Can't say that I've kept up with it, but this in combination with letting companies copy-strike anything they want and also getting to be their own arbitrators on appeal makes it seem like more trouble than it's worth to make videos about any sort of media. Fair use? Wh...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

ALSO also, I'm gonna say now that Overload turns into the lower torso asymmetrically, unlike his Legends-class counterpart. Well, I'm completely wrong about that. New pics of Devastator with the actual figures (with prototypes of scrapper and overload in blue plastic) here, albeit woefully mistrans...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Aye, that's what I like about the movie constructicons and devastator. The designers went absolutely bonkers with them and leaned way into the whole "alien shapeshifters don't really need to default to a human body type, so why should they?" They've dialed it back in the other direction since (proba...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Mixmaster pics, and Devvy's face gonna be reeeeeeed. :) Also, after digging around for pictures of the prototype that was showed a ~year ago, the final toys are a bit different. Like in this picture, look at the left arm: https://images.app.goo.gl/ecDpNAq2dMjQG1hQA Hightower's hook/claw/head/thumb ...

Re: Custom Paintjobs

Yeah, I'd say it's best to either sell them as-is or paint them for yourself. Anybody looking for Transmetals and Transmetal 2s nowadays knows about the paint flaking. Doing a repair paint job in advance for someone that specifically wants it is one thing, but just to list it on an online flea marke...

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

Yeah, new Starscream looks like the 2006 mold revisited with more articulation. Here's hoping the 2020 voyager will actually be bigger than the 2006 deluxe. :|

Also, Lord Zarak / Scorponok's head. Pretty neat way to tease the next Titan, I reckon.

Re: Official Transformers new/upcoming releases! Hasbro, TakaraTomy and more

I didn't buy the tetra jet once. Is it bad? From looking at pictures, I can't tell if F15 retool is feasible, but they're good at pre-planning that kind of the thing now.

More generally, have any product listing leaks in the past few years been wrong?

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I'm not disputing that, but I wasn't super keen on paying import prices for TR figures either (even though I did few times). And Titans Return figures were a whole lot more interesting to me than a set of combiner limb repaints! A figure needs to be pretty special to get me to pay that much more th...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I love the look of the Seacons too, but there's no way I can talk myself into paying full Takara price for them. They're neat retools but the figures they're based on retailed for less than half of what these guys are going for and they were barely worth that. I don't think it's that bad. They're o...

Re: NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Speaking of pre-orders it's going to be ****ing hard to justify Seacons at the suggested TT mall prices -- getting to 3P combiner heights. Are they really, though? Generic deluxe figure for Titans Return was ~$17 to $20, and it's Takara counterpart was typically $40 by the time it got to this conti...
