Re: [The video game thread]

Have you ever finished that game? Yes, back when it was released on the Wii during the launch period. I was lucky in that I had gone to a KMart on release night and they did a raffle (not for $) for the Wii units. Got one of those and TP. Between that and Wii Sports I was busy for months. I don't r...

Re: [The video game thread]

I'm almost done replaying Twilight Princess . I started a run on that one last year (the HD version on the Wii U). Fun game, but you're right, the pacing can be awful. The beginning of the game is notoriously slow paced. I never finished my run this time around, since I thought I was close to done ...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

I mostly like the new Cyclonus except for the... cankles? Cankles. Haven't seen one yet, though. I noticed that today too. Chunky ankles, semi-tiny feet. Still stand well though, since the overall footprint is big. Went to Target yesterday to pick up a Blackarachnia I saw a few days ago. Simply to ...

Re: [The video game thread]

My TG16 Mini came in. I love it. There's just so much here I never played! I just finished New Adventure Island last night. Working on Neutopia as well (halfway through?). There are shmups galore on this thing, some good, some not so good. I think my faves are in the Star Soldier line. But there's a...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Kingdom Cyclonus Found at Target while shopping with my family. Didn't expect to find any Kingdom stuff out just yet, but was pleasantly surprised. They had the whole first wave of all the size classes, and this is the sole one I was really interested in (though Warpath does look very nice). Except...

Re: [The video game thread]

Been playing random things over the last few weeks, as my attention span has been all over the map with Christmas stuff. Finished up the campaign and DLC campaign on Battlefront II (PS4) . Nothing special, but a fun mix of FPS and starship battles. I think this game has been sitting around on my sys...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Lego SW 75286 Grievous's Starfighter A Christmas gift from the wife and kids, and something I really didn't expect. Ep III is one of my favorite SW movies, so this is a nice set to have. I would have never bought it myself since it is really overpriced, but I can't say no to a great gift. The starf...

Re: What TV shows are you watching thread.

Finished watching season 2's of both The Mandolorian and Cobra Kai. I like them both for different reasons. Mando is just a nice SW show that hits all the marks. Made me enjoy SW again after the ho-hum-ness of the sequel trilogy. Cobra Kai has been a fun ride, since I've enjoyed the first two movies...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Siege Netflix Mirage (Decepticon) A gift from the wife and kids. I like the Siege Mirage mold well enough, and this one was a surprise. The deco is interesting enough, though I am surprised they made a figure from about 30 seconds of show time. Probably makes for great play value if you have the tw...

Re: [The video game thread]

I thought about Majora's Mask, but then realized I don't actually like that game. In the last couple years I played the MM 'remake' on 3DS. They modified the save system to be much more forgiving (instant saves that pick right up where you left off, IIRC) which I liked. Some would argue that it 'br...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Earthrise Bumblebee (Netflix) I was in Walmart earlier and came across him. Wanting a new 'Bee and already liking the Cliffjumper figure made this an easy pick. Great little car and great robot mode. The top of the car is a little tough to plug in and I worry that the paint will chip over time. Sur...

Re: [The video game thread]

PS5 That is all Do you like it? I hear the load times are ridiculously quick. I plan on getting one in the next year or so, when I scrabble the cash together and stores actually have reliable stock around. Not in a rush since I am still really enjoying the PS4. I also hear the controller is fantast...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Earthrise Runabout from a Target pre-order. I already have Runamuck, so it's nice to have a full set. Basically a redeco with a new head, but that's OK. So he's nothing new or special for me, but I really dig the black and red, especially in the windows. The double-pistols-that-can-be-a-rifle is al...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Prowl and Ironhide are a two-pack, yeah? Wasn't impressed with the look of Ironhide/Ratchet, but was happy to find Bluestreak at Walgreens about a month ago. I had thought it a remold of the Siege figure(s), but I can't actually find any parts in common between him and Barricade. Yes they are. It's...

Re: POST YOUR NEWEST ACQUISITIONS!

Earthrise Snapdragon, Prowl, Ironhide, and Runamuck Snapdragon as a gift, the other 3 as pre-orders that came in the mail. Snapdragon is really fun, but nothing special. Easy to go between the 3 modes, and the Headmaster functionality is good. Overall very fun figure. Prowl is great! Easily replace...

Re: Your Latest Non-TF Toy Acquisitions

Lego Star Wars 75288 AT-AT A gift from my family. Very nice set that comes with a bunch of fun stuff to mess with: 2 AT-AT drivers, 2 Snowtroopers, General Veers, and Luke Skywalker, an eWeb blaster, and a speeder bike. The speeder bike stores nicely in the AT-AT, and the eWeb can kinda be stored a...

Re: [The video game thread]

35th Anniversary Mario Game & Watch Nice little device with a great screen. A bit cramped in my hands since it's small, but it travels nicely. It only has SMB & the Japanese version of SMB2 plus the Game & Watch game Ball. Seems like they could have also squeezed in SMB2 from the US and...

Re: [The video game thread]

I've put in a fair amount of time and have got 20 Stars in Mario 64 so far. I've only played a little bit of Sunshine and Galaxy mainly because I kind of want to finish them in order but after about a half hour of playing Galaxy I'm sure now that it is my favourite Mario game that I've played so fa...

SS 67 Skipjack: Finally able to put together Devy! Skipjack on his own is pretty neat with the whole pogo-stick look. The arms a little funky, but oh well. The bulldozer mode is surprisingly great. :D SS Devy is all huge and chunky and awesome when assembled. I love it. Shoulder and arm joints coul...
