I totally get it. There are really only two things I'm looking forward to, one of which is the Superchunk opening her gifts. The other is my wife's gift; after years of refusing to get a dog, I'm buying her one, and she has no idea. However, compare that with the horror of extended families and the ...

My best friend came over last night with my Christmas present, and he'd gotten me an Xbone with Dragon Age: Inquisition and Shadows of Mordor. Can not wait.

Good point, but I still it lacked a lot of the comic's charm. Like when Matt pushed a hooker out a window? Or when Matt's porn star girlfriend sold his real name for smack? Or the time he played Russian roulette with an invalid Bullseye? It's been a long time since DD was anything approaching "...

Quickstrike has never been one of my favorites, but then, I don't really like the Fuzors all that much. I've held on to Quickstrike and Silverbolt up to now because they were in the show, but that's about it.

That's what I thought, but I knew as soon as I said "Busiek. It was Busiek.", it would turn out to be Waid or someone.

Jean Grey is something of an exception, as Marvel wanted to bring her back, but refused to do so until there was some way to absolve her of all the deaths she caused as Phoenix. Then some fan (Kurt Busiek, I want to say?) suggested the cloned body/bottom of a lake twist. Anyway, the defensiveness is...

It may have to do with comics and their trend of killing someone off only to resurrect them some years later. Prime's death and eventual revival is just another of those in comics. In cartoons at the time, it was a novel thing Except comics started doing that later. Before the death of Superman, it...

Well, with First Avenger, origin stories are the worst part of superhero movies, and FA is ALL origin story. Winter Soldier gets to cut loose and be a Captain America flick, so of course it's awesome. Also, Incredible Hulk was decent as Hulk movies go. Admittedly, that's a low bar. Anyway, picked up...

Picked up Captain America: Winter Soldier and Iron Man 1, 2, and 3 on Bluray due to a sale at Target in advance of Age of Ultron. Would have picked up AOU as well, as they were putting it out AND it was on sale, but the register wouldn't let them ring it up until October 2nd. But, it got me 3 dollar...

Anakin's descent could have easily been handled differently instead of the quick drop that's shown in the movies. The Clone Wars also explored this a little more and shed quite a bit of light on his growing mistrust of the council. Instead we just get to see him get cranky that he might not get to ...

I dunno. Lucas doesn't have a great track record when it comes to writing characters that aren't swimming in angst. We'd have been far more likely to get a Jar Jar than a Han Solo.

See I wish almost the exact opposite. Winnow Episode I down to only what worked, have a brief appearance by Lloydakin so everybody can be all "No, Qui-Gon! Leave him, he's a bad bad man! Let him to die in slavery!", and make it Episode III. Avoid the worst galaxy's worst doctor/robot, the ...
