ROTF Recon Ironhide

Figured I'd show him here. Mostly just removed the silver camo stripes and gave him the gun metal robot-parts treatment. Plus painting the guns and knives. http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4310/irnhd01.jpg http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4936/irnhd02.jpg http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/8333/ir...

Yeah, enamels are the way to go with small stuff. I do find that acrylics are better if you are looking for something really flat in color (enamel flat colors tend to come across a bit glossy regardless. Dunno why...) Definitely wait between coats. If it's not heavy enough the first time, wait a few...

Hello--glad you like! :) Yes, I use Photoshop for the SFX. Tools I would recommend for explosions are screen layers, air-brushes with splotch effects, various opacities to get the glow effects right, and playing with the air brush textures (should be the tab on the upper right that says [File Browse...

Confirming the Bludgeon/R. Ironhide spread, as well as NEST 'Bee and Dirge (and whoever else comes in that deluxe wave) all here in Las Vegas. Funny thing, Vegas tends to get things a week or so behind everyone else, so I'm a little surprised to find these guys around the same time as they've been r...

Op. Prime Display; X-Mas Gift for my Manager

So, our work does the Secret Santa thing every year, and I got my boss. One thing about her is that she's extremely patriotic; there's a table in the corner of her office that has a lot of American Flag and USA items on display. Nothing crazy, but it's there. So I got this idea in my head and couldn...

ROTF Ravage

So, after debating with myself about it, I finally decided to give my Ravage the steel treatment. Painted him up using Krylon Hammered Steel, with some acrylic gunmetal on the rubberized spikes to avoid sticky-paint (and top coated with hammered steel again). Added a little bit of gold here and ther...

Wow! Shrapnel has Seeker legs, cut at the shins! Never would have figured that to work for a small-scale. All are quite nice, and you're right; very refreshing with the parts you've chosen to use.

Can't say I see the friendly skull. In fact, with the black-lining around the eyes/optics, he looks more menacing to me.

Love this custom. I'll likely be using this as a guide when I do my own touch-ups on him (nothing so spectacular, mind you).

I can't get over the fact that this is the actual toy with just paint apps! (not ignoring the electronics...just the fact that no kitbashing/head customizing took place) It's amazing what a decent amount of paintwork can do. He looks like he does in the movie. :)

Arcee from A.Blurr

Hello. :) So, I've seen it done a few times, but I was always worried about having to mod up a backpack to bring out the Arcee character. Well, DavidLoPan on another board painted one up without any mods, proving that you could indeed make it work without heavy modding. So, I've given it a go. http:...

One can choose his customs as he wishes. It really isn't about everyone else recognizing it, but that the maker is happy with his work.

I like the resemblance. The colors and straight edges translate well on that figure. Any plans on making others?

Neither. Sorry.

Not too keen on creating terms that create a sentence where you're talking about "Kibble and Kabble." Makes you laugh, then in short time you realize how retarded that just sounded.

I will add (and agree) in all seriousness that I'm not really a fan of "anti-kibble" in this regard. That sounds like something that solves the kibble issue (like a shell- or parts-former by "removing" the kibble). And false parts to me feels simple and to the point. It doesn't r...

Vehicle component prosthetics? It needs to be wordy.

Otherwise, "fake/false parts."
