Re: Requiem of the Wreckers...where can I get it??

Hey Prowl, did you enjoy Requiem of the Wreckers? It took me a while and I was rather nonplussed, especially after Last Stand of the Wreckers which felt like being hit with a club hammer, but I have eventually come to kind of love Requiem. Sins I still don't have too much care for, but I think I'll ...

Re: Power Of The Primes Hun-Gurrr

After reading the description the first thing that came to mind when looking at the robot mode was Neil from The Young Ones. Hun-Gurr's got Neils student legs with Mike the cool person's head and shades (only in lurid purple). If only he came with an acoustic guitar accessory he could do 'Hole in my...

Re: Thank you

:) I never knew people gave a flying fig about Transformers in the late 90's until I went on the Information Superhighway and found this place (probably through AltaVista, Netscape or Lycos).

Re: What TV shows are you watching thread.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Its a bit like when you go back and watch old episodes of X-Files or really bad episodes of TNG and I'd wonder how anyone could've watched this... I also bought the new season of Twin Peaks made in 2017, maybe it'll fix my feelings about the old-fashionedness. At the mome...

Re: What TV shows are you watching thread.

Twin Peaks (the original series). Its okay, I don't get why its heralded as one of the best things on TV ever, it's so flaky and dumb in places, with wooden acting from certain people. I feel like it's aged badly, and it commits that cardinal sin where a character orders food in a diner and then wa...

Re: Was Ten alive?

I’ll have to go back and check, I think there was a line said by Tyrest to Getaway that the legislators were made from the melted down bodies of Circle of Light members. I might be totally wrong on that, but if I’m not it still feels rather a half-assed way to give Ten sentience alongside a bit of S...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

Oh yeah, but the comics were on tap, served up weekly by the Newsagent when we were kids (in the UK). Trying to catch any of the cartoons was like gold dust; we used to get them portioned into five minute clips on TV and then only during a school holiday. I still remember the time I recorded every f...

Was Ten alive?

Did James Roberts ever give a definitive explanation about Ten’s sentience? I’ve read the TF Wiki page on Ten but it doesn’t say anything helpful. I don't believe Swerve was able to create life from nothing when he reconfigured Ten as a doorman & I was content that a proper explanation would com...

Re: Latest DVD Purchases

A while ago I was reading a page online called ‘Great films you might have missed’, and near the top was ‘Pay It Forward’ with Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt and the kid from The Sixth Sense. “No really” the article proclaimed: “... its a massively underrated film with a genuinely interesting premise”. My...

Re: Latest Music Purchases.

Metallica ‘The Black Album’ (1991) Apart from the hits like Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters this did nothing for me, and I was really surprised because it was everywhere and is a classic album, but it feels so schoolboyish. Lots of ranting about things that don’t need to be ranted about. I l...

Re: So I'm pretty much out of the fandom at this point

I’m the same as Zigzagger and Skyquake; I adored MTMTE and felt sad when the James Roberts material was drawn to a close. I particularly loved the banter here when a new issue came out and we’d try and guess the motivations behind the characters and where the plot-lines would go. I still love going ...

Re: A question about Kup in the All Hail Megatron Coda.

No sooner have I asked than I found the answer at TFWiki. The answer was in the story I was reading, I was just too dumb to figure it out. Here’s the blurb from the wiki: ... (Kup) also had some programming routines installed via Prowl to help lead the Autobots into winning the war: now he could be ...

A question about Kup in the All Hail Megatron Coda.

I was reading ‘Everything in its Right Place’ in the All Hail Megatron coda. Its the one that opens with Springer smacking Prowl around demanding to know about Kup. It’s a brilliant story, but towards the end Prowl mentions about planting particular algorithms in Kup’s brain. What was that? I don’t ...

Re: Latest DVD Purchases

That bad eh? That’s a shame as I’m a sucker for 80’s synth era TV shows. I’d heard it wasn’t as good as Life on Mars, but I didn’t know it was bad. And today I bought another copy of Best in Show (made by the same guys who did Spinal Tap). I lost my original copy and its too good not to have.

Re: Latest DVD Purchases

I managed to get Life on Mars series one and two (which I've never seen) and the complete Fawlty Towers, which I've not seen in donkey's years. I still love buying DVD's, so many people seem to think its old hat now, but maybe with a DVD player that upscales they don't look so bad on larger screen T...

Re: Avengers : Endgame

I saw this yesterday too. I thought it was a big, flabby load of old arse. I tell you what; with this and the letdown of a Game of Thrones episode with the White Walker battle I really felt like a line had been drawn under CGI. I feel totally bored by it now, anything can happen and nothing is inter...

Re: The Transformers Partwork Discussion Thread.

Ah yeah, I always wanted the backstories about Telus and Rotorbolt and their mate that got fried. Them and the guys in the dead end like Wheezel; how did they end up like that, what kin of people were they like in the past etc. Telus and co hinted at this entire subculture of robots that we never kn...

Re: Can someone explain to me why so many people hate Michael Bay's Transformers movies?

Lately here in the UK they've been showing 'Dark of the Moon' on repeat. I turned on the subtitles with the most recent airing and it made the world of difference. There was so much babble that I wasn't comprehending until now. Sam is incredibly annoying, and its not a patch on the first film, but d...
