Re: Its so damn watchable!
Hey Shrapnel Clone, I have a vague memory of you mentioning that you had a background role in Shaun of the Dead. Was that you, or was there another Insecticon on this board?

Re: I'm bored and I want to post stuff.
All this licensing and rights stuff; do you think Hasbro will ever get the chance to give toys back their original names without the painful 'Autobot' prefix, like the way you pick up a modern box and it says 'Autobot Hound' or 'Autobot Gregor Fisher', its really tiresome. Not Covid or mass genocide...

Re: I'm bored and I want to post stuff.
Someone mentioned in a tweet today that IDW is losing the Transformers licence. No idea if its true & when its going to happen, haven't bothered searching the information superhighway, just thought I'd mention it here in your 'wanting to post stuff' thread. I swore off TF comics after IDW buried...

Its so damn watchable!
What films can you not help but watch again and again no matter how many times they've been on TV, even if you own the film on other formats? This happened tonight when I saw Aliens was on one of the channels. I looked at the EPG guide and thought; Nope, not again, not for the hundredth time. I swit...

Re: Dungeons & Dragons and Transformers
Yeah, that's really interesting. I loved the tech specs as well. Being shallow all I cared about was who was the strongest; then things started to get a bit foggy when Grimlock and Springer's specs showed they were as strong as Optimus Prime and... Metroplex! And then how much does it matter your st...

Dungeons & Dragons and Transformers
Was Transformers ever intended to have a Dungeons & Dragons element? I was watching a Youtube video recently about an old computer game called ‘Wasteland’ where your characters have seven traits similar to a Transformers tech spec of Strength, Intelligence, Speed, Endurance, Rank, Courage, Firep...

Re: Hey, what does everyone do for work now, anyway?
I work for the NHS in an office role, since Covid hit I work from home permanently, and I kind of like it... Its just a job though. For fun I supplement it with other things; for the last 10 years I’ve been co-presenting a food & drink programme on local radio. I do radio news for the blind &...

Re: Do people go elsewhere than eBay for old toys/comics these days?
Yeah, I had a go too. Put a couple of figures on to test the waters and only managed to get the offer price, and that was after they'd been re-auctioned a few times. Oh well. Yours must've been in much better shape than mine!

Ha ha, I'd not seen that Vampira video before. I like the fact that the Devil plays a red strat and has spectacles!

Re: Latest Music Purchases.
Of all the stuff I've been listening to across the years I feel as if my brain/eyes/ears were never truly open until I heard the full-throated roar of Devin Townsend. If I could pick any musician to be, I'd want to be this guy... for his ethic, creativity and downright fun attitude (perhaps not in h...

Re: Human being roll call
Yep, still mooching about. If IDW hadn't been daft and got rid of MTMTE/LL then I'd still be posting in the comics thread, those were really fun times; examining every little detail & trying to guess where the plot was heading. Still love looking back on them now but would like to get them in di...

Do people go elsewhere than eBay for old toys/comics these days?
I haven’t looked at eBay since the mid 2000’s when I went to Gumtree and bought things locally. Yesterday I went onto eBay again and looked at prices. There are plenty of comics from the early IDW and some Dreamwave era going for seemingly decent prices, with no ripoff P&P and from sellers with ...

Re: Is the Dreamwave run available digitally?
Ah well, worth a try. I remember I had a few issues of the DW Beast Wars comic as well. The art was great (done by Nick Roche), and Razorbeast was good as the main character. Boo-Urns!

Is the Dreamwave run available digitally?
I know its a load of old arse (I read the first DW G1 TPB by Sarracini and it was total garbage), but is the Dreamwave TF stuff available digitally? As in everything up until the ongoing got cancelled. I have paper copies of Megatron: Origin and a few of the on-going (the two-parter where Jazz, Side...

Re: Site content and community revitalization project
I dunno, it feels like almost everyone has everything necessary. A camera and mic are built into every smartphone, tablet or laptop these days, and Zoom runs on all of those things. For Twitch I think you have to configure some free software so people can text you live on-screen. I know its not real...

Re: Site content and community revitalization project
Great, because its been kinda sad these last couple of years watching the message boards consolidate down to a few chief forums. And then viewing page one of a forum, scrolling down a bit & seeing topics last posted a year ago... felt like it was teetering on the precipice a bit. I really dig th...

Re: Site content and community revitalization project
Imagine having modern updates of stuff that's already on the archive: - Members doing videos of their collections - Sir Auros used to do TF video game reviews, now they could be Twitched and Youtubed. I know there's millions of these videos already out there, but not with the background depth and kn...

Re: Site content and community revitalization project
Really cool idea. I feel like Youtube, Twitch and podcasts lead the way these days. People want to see stuff, and I feel like a message board is very pre-broadband old hat. I'd love to see Archive certified/owned Youtube videos backed up with a live Twitch stream that maybe follows a regular broadca...

Re: [The video game thread]
I bought an X-Box 360E (never owned one before) and have been having fun with several prominent X-Box games like Halo 3, Gears 1, Blur, Fable II, Fallout 3, ODST, Skyrim, Pac Man DX+, L.A. Noire etc. Its a good time financially to get into the 360 as all the games are only £1 in thrift stores and se...
