[Ask Vector Prime] Female Alternators character?

Post by Denyer »

http://www.hasbro.com/transformers/defa ... um_answers
Q: Will there be a girl alternator transformer?

A: They do exist in my world, only time will tell if they cross over to yours.
Vague, but indicates Hasbro are thinking of branching out further (and that the Alternators line is probably good to go for a few more releases.)

Ta to SwineTrekkie at the AllSpark.

Are these answers normally just added "newest at the top" style?

I just read the whole thing, and, wow, some odd things:
. We once had a mini-con that transformed into a disco ball, but that was a long time ago.

Brilliant.
Blaster: "Grimlock, look over there!"

Grimlock: "You think Grimlock stupid, fall for trick."

Blaster: "Well, yes and no. Yes, I think you're stupid. But no, it's not a trick."

Archer did say at Botcon that there would be ten released in `06, including four new molds.

And, if you go through the list of who's been done, there aren't many Autobot cars from `84/`85 left that translate directly to an Alternator counterpart, so I'd say suspect some squirrelier character choices than what have been selected so far. Of course, we're already getting a Ricochet, so a fembot Alternator like Arcee or Elita-1 (or even Blackarachnia) would actually be a less-obscure choice.

lets see autobots not yet done: Ironhide, Ratchet, Mirage(in process), Trailbreaker, Gears, Brawn, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Huffer, Downshift, Camshaft, Hoist, Inferno, Grapple, Beachcomber, other dinobots(maybe), Kup, Hot rod, Blurr. . .

How about some Decepticons: Megatron, All Jets, Soundwave, Frenzy, Rumble, Lazerbeak, Breakdown, Dragstrip, Wildrider, Motormaster, Scourge, Maybe the insecticons, or other members of Bruticus.

I think that there are enough left that they don't have to branch out to far yet.

If they gonna come out with female Alternators we better see something more than a female head.

I believe he was called Funkyrton actually...

Interesting to see references to Furman's War Within stuff about the Fallen and the 13.

AAGREEEE. Not another Nitro Convoy, please.

As for the Disco ball - Unicron's Minicon was intended to be one of the countless sphere cannon (drone?) that appeared in the cartoon. When Vector Prime paired with one of this guy is a mistery.

Yeh, we need tits and eyelashes! Everyone knows that's how female alien robots look, after all.

Well, if they're going to be generally humanoid in shape they might as well go the whole hog... Perhaps it's not to late to start giving the male Alternators penises?

Why not? Omega Supreme is a giant phallus after all.

All those points of articulation could allow some sexy poses between male and female alternators, especially if Shockers gets to use his glow in the dark dildo fist!

On topic, I'm not against the idea of female tfs if they at least provide some feasible explanation as to how and why they exist. Though browsing through a 'Cybertron' brochure there's a girl Autobot (Overide?) and she looks pretty nifty in robot mode, just not in a T and A way!

So if they have to exist, they can be done in an acceptable way.

As I said, they've just about emptied the bucket of figures that are easily-translated into Alternators.

Trailbreaker has already been passed over twice, probably due to problems with the name trademark. Ironhide is possible with the dogde ram. All the other Autobots you mentioned are either models from car companies that have already shot down the idea, or are of vehicles that are too big to be Alternators.

In the case of Decepticons, all of those characters would have to be translated into cars from something else entirely.

The problem with that is that there are very vocal people who'll cry bloody murder because Megatron wouldn't be a gun, or Cliffjumper a Porsche. Given that, there just aren't many G1 characters that turn into specific model vehicles left to do that people won't pitch a fit over, aside from a few minibots (which are generic enough to pass with several different molds).

With Alternators, taking characters seen only in non-toy material and giving them Earth modes isn't that bad of an idea. Chromia, Firestar, and Moonracer as sports and race cars? How about Emirite Xaaron as a Dodge Ram truck? Straxus as a car? (Finding big-name, non-toy Decepticons isn't as easy as it is with Autobots.)

Still, at this rate, they'll need to expand into armor and/or jets if they want to keep Alternators going. Perhaps someone should ask Vector Prime for a cryptic answer to this question.

You still have some car bots left in G1:

Decepticons:
Runamuck & Runabout (They could share a mold)
Motormaster (Could share the Ginrai/Optimus mold)

Autobots:
Goldbug (not likely, because BBee's VW Alternator was VETO-ed.)
Searchlight
Freeway
Chase

.. amongst others. ;)
Ah...forget it!
