A question about Vector Sigma

Post by dai-atlas2000 » Sun Dec 09, 2001 10:21 pm

Ok, people have probably asked this before...but tell me to shut up if it has been.

How come the dinobots can be alive and thinking without the use of vector sigma??

Quite simple really,

Vector Sigma had the brilliant idea of using Apple Macintosh processors in the Dinobots brains, rather than the current Pentiums/Athlon's of the time.

The result was a bunch of simple, yet extremely effective bots, who thought differently.

No-one ever made any more Dinobots because everyone thought it was just plain crazy, despite the fact that it actually worked.

Because the writers made up vector sigma for a plot of a two part episode.

Yeah, and because continuity was the last thing on the writers' minds when they came up with Vector Sigma. No one ever thought to say to them; "Psst, guys, if this is the case how do you explain the Dinobots?"

Idiots.

My justification is that the Dinobots are simple enough that their intelligence could have been created by the Autobots alone. They don't have "cybernetic personalities" in the true sense. This can also be used to explain why the cartoon Dinobots are pretty much indiscernible from one another as far as their personalities are concerned.

i once heard a more interesting theory as to this.,,...(it also was an attempt to excuse bad writing,, but was in my opinion a good save,,
the transformers, beeing created by vector sigma, were imprinted with the basic contents required to "create" life as well... wheeljack and ratchet programmed the dinobots at the beginning anyways to be "switchon switchoff" bots.. this did not work.. beeing as the basic free will-sentience bla was already there after thier interfaced programming,,
tadaa.. and some writer saves anothers bad writers a**
btw,, was not my explanation,, i heard it somewhere.. adn they explained it better,, but,,mmh,, oh well

Its possible that the matrix gave the dinobots life.
After all it was connected to VS.
And only the matrixless cons needed to go to vector sigma not the autobots who only took advantage once they were there.

I mean the technobots never had vec programming either did they?

In SOS Dinobots - Wheeljack seemed to be copying the original specs of the Dinosaurs - Spike told him that Dinos were stupid so the Dinobots were stupid (limited intelligence)...notice in that episode that they made the Dinos in the likeness of the originals....

hey - I just noticed that I'm a powermaster now??? What's the next level after PM??? and when do |I get it?

My theory is that before leaving, the autobots and decepticons each created a few personality components from vector sigma just in case they needed them. The reason that Megatron needed to go to vector sigma to activate the stunticons was that he ran out of personality components, and Optimus used it to create the aerialbots because he either ran out as well, or did not have enough time to get back to the arc, where he had left them.

As for the technobots, Grimloc was super smart, due to anti-electrons, smarter than even Perceptor. It is logical to determine that in such a state, he was intelligent enough to create personality components like the ones created by vector sigma, and implant them in the technobots.

I'm willing to buy into that. Cuz Primus knows they didn't forget about Vector Sigma(read: Rebirth).

I always thought,as far as the tv show went, that the dinobots were artifiscal life, like data on TNG. That they didn't have sparks, if you want to take advantange of bw/bm.
