Signed.
Maybe if we buy enough dvds we'll get the 'Family guy effect' and Cartoon Network will recommission the show for one or more seasons.

*sigh*

You do all realise it's not (just) up to Cartoon Network or any other network, right? Any series would need Hasbro to be up for it too (and most likely contributing money). The toyline's gone, the same way any Transformers line ends when they run out of characters that more than a hairy clog of fans give a shit about and the toys stop selling. And Hasbro aren't going to be going for it when they have another TF cartoon in development, are they? You don't compete with yourself. Animated's gone. Get over it.

Way to kill it Cliffjumper. We Don't know if Hasbro is planning to make another season for reasons other then toysales though it is the driving force.True they cancelled the seventh wave for an unknown reason, perhaps it was to make way for ROTF Figures and movie. They also left so many cliffhangers pointing towards another season if you didn't already notice. For example Waspinator saying he has "Planzzz." So its not out of the question another season is being planned

Assuming another season were possible (unlikely considering the Disney/new TV station thingey deal), in order for it to happen Hasbro need to be convinced that kids want it, not a bunch of old farts like us. It doesn't matter if 20000 of us put our names down because we're not the people they're making the show for, nor the people the advertisers in that time slot are aiming their products at.

Sorry to shit on your wetbrained fantasy and all. Lots of shows that are cancelled have incomplete storylines - "The Rebirth" from G1 ends with Galvatron and Zarak being set up as squabbling, but it doesn't mean there were any more solid plans. Shows of any demographic that have finished their TV run with a solid, absolute ending are very few in number. It could be that no-one knows it's going to be the end, or that they know it's going to be the end and they just throw stuff in.

Hasbro have a deal with another network, who are unlikely to want someone else's cast-off to lead the line. Animated was cancelled in line with the declining toy sales, simply because there are only so many random repaints of the popular characters they can shift.

You might as well petition them to bring back Beast Wars.

It's a bit like life. Any little bit of drama or personal storyline going on in your life... eventually it'll finish and you'll be able to draw a line under it. But it's incredibly unlikely that absolutely everything else going on for you or everybody else in your immediate social circle will also be tied off.

Life has loose ends. Any plausible fiction finishes with loose ends. So long as the main thrust of the narrative is concluded, that's the important bit. Even if it's "all our central characters are dead / are probably about to die", which I can conjure up about four examples of without any hesitation at all.

The cycle kicking off again (or threatening to) is also a good one, and the one that G1 went with. Not every story has the luxury of being able to do a sequence of Return of the King style flash-forwards that handily and conveniently explain what happened to each individual cipher.

Carnivale got kicked four seasons earlier than planned, but still managed to feel like the main arc of the story was finished. Deadwood on the other hand got utterly shafted.

"Jay, Silent Bob and Suzanne... well that's another story."

Technically speaking, Animated probably has the highest number of robot characters that didn't get made into to toys to begin with of any TF series, so there's plenty of merchandising options left. Whether any of those options are likely big enough sellers to continue the line is another matter. But, there're oodles, OODLES of recognizable names/characters left that didn't get toys.

There is also the fact that the animation studio involved will be working elsewhere on new projects. They won't be sitting around waiting on the hope that the show gets renewed. The way TV is commissioned means shows have a lot of production lead time so there is no chance Hasbro have been pondering what to do and will miraculously turn round and give the show a fourth series at the eleventh hour.

Whatever TF animated show comes next will likely already be in pre-production.

Plus, if shows didn't end with lots of lose ends what would fan fiction writers do?

How else could we have 'debate' threads if there was robotic sex or not if they tied up all the loose ends? :halo:

I haven't anything yet. They should continue it. Maybe we could offer some suggestions.
