G.I joe and transformers together

Would that be a good idea?

Two large casts in a roughly two-hour film? Probably not, any other qualms aside.

No.

Cast'll be too big and confusing, and that's not counting plot-lines, characterization and special effects.

If the military characters from Transformers were replaced by GI JOE characters it could work. 5 Autobots and 5 Joes or something like that.

The idea of a "TF Meets GI Joe" live action movie seems lame to me. I love the TF movie line and believe GI Joe will at least be watchable, but two great tastes don't always mix well.

Actually, that could've been a cool reference to fans, as there are plenty of cross Joe/TF fans. Nothing too obvious, but if Lennox had been named Conrad Hauser ("Duke") and Epps been called Marvin Hinton ("Roadblock"), that would've been a cool nod.

Then again, there'd be fans who'd take it way too literally. "Dude! Hinton from Transformers IS Roadblock!!!"

Most GI Joe fans would've been more pissed due to their insistence that GI Joe is too realistic (what with the specialist military unit that includes a basketball player) and mature (with its' terrorist organisation who never come close to killing anybody) to be sullied by giant robots.

That's what I absolutely do not understand about Joe fanboys. They're currently whining about the "power suits" (which are actually being developed, to a lesser glorious extent) being used in the movie but have no qualms about the whole Serpentor thing. A lot of supernatural and sci-fi elements have been tossed into GI Joe but things don't get "fake" until this elite military unit uses technology that actually exists...
